    So today was my first day of induction. I just went and put my stuff in fitday and it says I went over by 12 carbs I thought I was being careful and keeping it clean, but I guess not. But the good thing is I HAVE been drinking my water. Tomorrow's another day.

    Are you deducting the fiber from your carb count?

        You need to set fibre as a specific goal in order to see how much you've had and then subtract it yourself. Hopefully this will take you under 20

          Thank you both so much, I didn't realize that.

          Edited to add:

          I just went back and edited my fitday and indeed that did take down by 5 net carbs. So it still says I was over by 7, but it's an improvement over the 12.

            Yep, don't worry too much about that - just learn from it and move on - it shouldn't affect you too much

              You don't actually have to set fiber as a specific goal on fitday. It keeps track automatically, so you can subtract it.

              Scale: SW:235 CW:193
              GW:150

              Mini goals:
              215 - met 9/10/07
              205 - met 10/17/07
              195 - met 2/20/08

                Yes indeed. Tomorrow is another day, but it's also going to be a better day because you know where you need to make adjustments and improvements. Reduce that carb count by just a few and you'll be on target. And good work on the water...add another 16 ounces today just for good measure.

                  i'm new at fitday and a little lost...am i supposed to deduct the fiber from the carb count?? sorry for the bird brain question, but how come?

                    I might be wrong, I was wrong once before about something I can't remember (lol), but fit day keeps track of all aspects of the food you eat because it's not based on a low carb diet...it's meant for use for all kinds of diets. Does that make sense? The reason I came up with that was because of the advertisements and the totall overall information the site provides.

                      Yep, yep, yep, deduct the fiber grams from the carb grams. You are looking to keep your NET carbs under 20, and NET CARBS is carbs minus fiber.

                      Why? Because Dr. Atkins said so. And because.....um........I forget. But it's a good reason. <grin>

                        thats good enough reason for me. yay! looks like i could eat a lot more than i previously was...hrm, thats A LOT of food and i'm hardly ever hungry!
