  • What Gives?

    Hello, Well i started my induction on 7/20/07, and to date i've lost 15lbs. Which is awesome, and my family has metioned that its noticeable. My only concern is that my clothes aren't fitting any better, still the same. I thought that my pants would get a little looser, etc. What gives? I'm really tired of wearing maternity pants, it would be nice to fit into some of my old jeans, even the fat ones! Has anyone else had this problem? I would love to hear from those of you who can relate, Thanks!

    I'm assuming you've had a baby *somewhat* recently if you're wearing maternity pants (and not your fat jeans)...If so, I think it can take awhile for your middle to shrink back--I gained 70 lbs. with both my pg and it took almost a year before my face didn't look puffy, let alone my midsection.

    I'm on day 15 of induction and have lost 7 lbs. but I'm not noticing a difference in any of my clothes yet either (hmph!) I thought it was 10 lbs. per size.....Hopefully you will see a difference soon!

      well i used to be a very very very tiny and could eat like a 300 ld person. it caught up to me and uhmm now i am a size 14 15 jeans but yeah it takes for more pounds to notice somtimes just hang in there and it should start just coming off.

        Have you started exersize? Situps and ab work will help you lose inches...
        Congratulations on the wt loss! I think you'll start noticing soon, so keep up the good work and don't give up! Yeah for you!

          Yah, I've lost 13 lbs, won't be checking my measurements until the 19th, and frankly, I don't see any difference in the way my clothes fit.

          So I focus on how I feel, which is full of energy and optimism. My experience with this WOE is that it works, it really works, and I am hanging on to that!

            Hey Wannab, congrats on losing 15 pounds! That's awesome!

            You know, it seems to me that I never lose off the places I want. The biggest problems for me are always the last to leave (first to show last to go as my hubby likes to say). Because of that it seems I'm not moving along as quickly as I'd like. For instance, my belly is an issue for me. I would like it gone NOW. Even though all my other 2000 parts are losing nicely, because that part is still HUGE in my eyes, it doesn't feel like I've lost that much.

            Keep at it and it'll go. Maybe not in the places you want right away, but eventually they too will shrink.

              Thanks for all the comments. I did gain around 70lbs with my pregnancy, but that took 9 months to put on so I’m not in a rush. Frankly I don’t care if I weigh 300lbs or 110lbs as long as I fit into something around a size 9 or 10(My old size). As far as exercise goes, carrying around my 6 month old who weighs about 21lbs now is the equivalent of lifting weights in my eyes, on top of all those stroller walks. So we'll see, it just takes time I guess. I appreciate all the support though so Thank you, and good luck to everyone!

                I lost weight in my wrist, ankles, feet and neck first. It may just be coming off places you don't look.

                You can do crunches pretty fast while the baby is napping. You can do a lot in 10 minutes.

                It will come off, hormones from pregnancy can do funny things for a while. Stick with it and you'll be fine.

                  HEY GIRL~
                  Don't stress too much~ You may wake up and realize OMG, these pants are huge...that is what happened to me...all of a sudden it was like I lost 20 lbs over night~
                  Just keep up the great work and before you know it 9/10's will be on your body!
                  So....I fell off the band wagon...BUT I'M BACK!!! More Ready than ever!

                    yeah, it comes off dumb places that don't really matter too....toes, fingers, ankles, etc. I always want to throw a party when I have to buy an new bra
