  • i'm so proud of my two year old!

i gave my two year old son an oreo cookie with the chocolate filling in the middle. naturally, i started craving cookies and grabbed a slice of cheese to munch on. my son put his cookie down on the table and asked for a peice of my cheese instead. its amazing how much influence we have in our children's lives when we're not even trying. i didn't think i would ever see the day he wanted cheese over a cookie! he still ate the cookie afterwards, but he made my day!

It's so true! I was trying out one of the pureed pumpkin recipes (with cream cheese, splenda and cinnamon) and served it up to my kids in little bowls. They loved it! Even my daughter who fusses over every veggie I put on her plate. OK, so I added a little whipped cream on theirs, but I was still impressed.

Aww. That's just adorable. My kids are usually good about eating veggies as long as they're raw. Once I cook them they become taboo. lol. It must be a psychological thing?

Be Proud!!! And continue to set a good example for him and you will see him make choices that are healthy! I made fried chix for DD and instead of breading for me I used parmesan cheese, she tried it and asked me to make that for her next time. Low carb is TASTY!

Re: i'm so proud of my two year old!

You are so right. I have a 5 year old dd, who has been on this rollercoaster ride of me starting, stopping and restarting for the last 3 years. But every time I restart she wants to eat just what I do. Of course I make sure to up her carbs with good whole grains, and more dairy and such. Last night when I got on the treadmill for the first time, she was right there beside me with her tennis shoes on, to give it a try. She actually did very good, but I was a little nervous, even though she had the little clip thing on that stops it if you fall, so I kept my hand on one of her arms incase I had to catch her or hold her up really quick.
