Re: Monday Morning "Engage the Brain" Roll Call 8/20/2007

Awsome Terry, couldn't have said it better myself. A little wordy though, took me some time to read it, but you got your point across.

Here is what I thought about last night.

Not only are we promise keepers, but we are WARRIORS.
    Definition of a Warrior:
"One who is engaged aggressively or energetically in an activity or cause."
Hmmm, sounds a little like us huh?
We fight for our cause everyday, and many of us our victorious.

We are Warriors for Atkins, and our battle is against the American standard Food pyramid and “bad carbs”, so let’s go to battle.

ps. i'm down another pound...152 now Yeah!!!!! go atkins, go atkins!!!

Re: Monday Morning "Engage the Brain" Roll Call 8/20/2007

Good morning all. It's starting my second week of exercising at the gym but I'm still hurting from last week. I know I'll "get used to it", but I still am not looking forward to the pain of working out. But I am looking forward to the acheivement of working out. It hurts to get there but I know how excited I'm going to be as I watch the inches melt and the clothes get smaller and smaller and I get stronger and stronger.

I'm moving to rung 4 today, mostly because I'm really REALLY wanting some fruit and because I'm working out which helps burn the carbs and because I've been on Rung 3 for two weeks and I've discovered it's not the nuts so much as it is the peanuts that give me problems. Eat almonds, brazil nuts or pecans and I'm fine. Eat peanuts and I tend to stall, or hold water or something. I put it down to the fact that peanuts are not real nuts but legumes and even thou I can eat them, I'm better off limiting or eliminating them.

I'm soooo looking forward to some blueberries in my Dom's Cheesecake Pudding!

        Note to self...DRINK MORE WATER!

Yes, a little bit wordy myself this morning.
        Drink more water!

Good morning. Great message. Should be easy to remember!

No loss in the last week. I think it's my own fault for substituting wine for water on a few occasions! oops!

My mother is having surgery today, so if any can spare some prayers or good thoughts, they would be appreciated. This sort of thing makes me so nervous, but I'm surrounded by legal food, so at least that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.

edited to add: 5 months today! I had hoped for better, I'm still happy with my loss!

Good Morning Everyone! I had a super busy weekend and have not had a chance to read up on everyone's posts for the weekend but will do that shortly. I just wanted to say good morning first! I am starting the very first day of the couch potato to 5K challenge this morning. I'm a bit nervous about the whole running thing but oh well ....... What have I got to lose????? WEIGHT!!!!!!!
I have been at a stall here for 7 days now and I am hoping adding something new to my routine will help bust through that. I so want to see a number that doesn't start with 2__!!!!!!

OK I am off to run ...... and then back to read and catch up!

            Have a wonderful morning!

Good morning everyone. I was bad-bad-bad all weekend. Funny how my best laid plans can fall apart so quickly. I finished Rung 1 of the C25K but that was about the only thing I'm proud of. So, it's back to Induction for me, water, water, and more water. I'll just pick myself up and carry on.

Sheepie: Prayers going up for your mother, I hope everything goes well.

Heidi: Congrats on starting the C25K!

Blazing: I loved your post about us being warriors, it definitely is a battle, isn't it.

              Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Jess. I definitely know everyone is here for me, that's why I love coming here so much. Oddly enough I'm not worried about this turning into a binge. Bend was a really great word for it. I'm a bit disappointed in myself but I'm keeping in mind that it didn't ruin all the days before it and it can't ruin all the days after it, and definitely not today. It's about consistency over time and keeping up with my exercise and happy thoughts.

Morning STACers! I'm still holding the course. Only 4 more days until I can proclaim a cheat free induction! Out of the three times starting this woe, this is the first time I can honestly say that. For some darn reason the scale moved in the wrong direction for this mornings weigh in, its .4 of a pound up from yesterday and I can't figure out why. I haven't cheated, my calories were lower yesterday then they have been, I drank plenty of water, and I don't have TOM due to surgery several years ago. The only thing I can think is that my rest day yesterday built some muscle from all my working out last week. I'm truely motivated though this go round and I've decided on my reward to myself when I hit goal. I'm gonna buy me a new kayak. I currently have a rec boat, but I'm going to upgrade to a rec/white water crossover boat. Have a good day all, and keep focused on your dreams.

                        Good Morning Everyone

                        Most importantly...Sheepie...sending prayers your way.

Michelle...Warrior Chick! This truly is a battle some days, but we are in it to win it!

Tomorrow...bad girl ...hehehe. Seriously hon, it happens, you acknowledged it and ahve moved on. Proud of you that you didn't have that, oh well, I blew it anyway, where is that bag of cookies and carton of ice cream!

Everyone is doing great inspite of everything and the reason I say this is that we are all still posting, no matter what we have to post, and since we are all posting, means we are all THINKING ATKINS!

As for me, its raining here today. Going to have a bite to eat then head down for my C25K workout. I must be honest. I really do not enjoy exercise at all and if there was a way I could live this WOL without it, I would. Now I'm talking structured, make time for, exercise. I'm NOT a couch potatoe. I do not look forward to it, I procrastinate about it, and I just don't like it. I hear nearly everyone eventually say how they like it and can't wait to do it, etc...but I'm just not there and not sure I will ever be. I must say though AFTER I finish I feel better and good about myself, its just making myself do it that I struggle with daily. The rest of this lifestyle comes easy for me.

Ok..well sorry for the rant...hehehe....Have a good one everyone!

                          Hiya, everyone!

We're up early, working on the kitchen some more. I'm so excited about this project! The fact that we're doing all of the labor ourselves (ok, my husband is. I stand around and hand him tools and nod sagely when he mutters things) makes it even more terrific in my eyes.

Sheepie - my prayers and good thoughts are heading toward you and your mom.

gillespie - how was the run, darn it? I posted on the exercise challenge thread that I'm holding my breath until you report back.........do you LIKE this shade of blue on my skin? Are you a smurfs fan?

Terry - but what's your POINT? Don't beat around the bush, darnit!

Lynsey - I LOVE your attitude and zeal for kayaking! As for the scale, mine goes up and down in a 3 lb range from day to day. I only count the lowest weight last registered. Keeps me sane, and I think it's the truest weight.

byker - you're doing a TON of exercise. Take a rest day at some point, ok? And do you have a jaccuzzi at your gym? That's my reward at the end of a workout, and it reduces the soreness substantially.

Tomorrow - so even though you had a bender this weekend, you still fulfilled your commitment on the couch to 5k? Awesome. I'm betting that in the past, if you blew your eating plan, you also gave up on exercise - or am I just projecting about myself?

Jess - you continue to inspire me. Have a wonderful week with the conference thingy. And check in whenever you can.

                          Love you guys!

Hi all! I just wanted to say a quick hi before I head the kids off to vacation bible school--and then I'll be going to the gym

It was such a great feeling to get on the scale and see I've finally dropped the couple lbs. I've been carrying around with TOM. After six days at a standstill, I was starting to get anxious.

I signed up for Muffin Butts which was at first a bit depressing to try on pants that were skin tight that I was just wearing a couple years ago....but then knowing there are a bunch of people doing the challenge with me was really encouraging and motivating. I can't wait to see how everyone progresses.

Sheepie, I'll say a prayer for your mom.
