  • Scale Frustrations

Today is Day 14 of Induction for me. I went to work early to weigh myself on the scale I used on Day 1...it(the scale) is gone. The scale I weighed myself on while on vacation is in PA so I can't use that one. So I went downstairs to my Dr.'s office & weighed myself there...257.5. I called the Dr. to see what my weight was in early July when she made me get on the scale...261. So I guess I only lost about 3.5# which is just making me absolutely crazy. The good news is I lost 9.5"! I am n fact doing a happy dance about the inches going bye-bye. At the same time I'd like to blow up all the scales.

I also recall reading in DANDR that when beginning Induction during your TOM you'll see a smaller weight loss. Day 1 of Induction was also Day 1 TOM.

So I guess my CW is still the same as my SW.

Bottem line is I'm buying a scale to have at home so I can always use the same scale.

Stupid TOM. Stupid, STUPID Tom! Dumb scale! Pay no mind to that scale - you're right to celebrate the inches lost.

I'm betting my life savings ($4.56) that the scale will show a change in 2 weeks. But I'm betting my husband's life savings ($15.23) that the tape measure will be the most consistent register of change for you!
    Start date: 7/29/2007

    Scale: SW:235 CW:193
    GW:150

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

    Mini goals:
    215 - met 9/10/07
    205 - met 10/17/07
    195 - met 2/20/08
    180

    I survived a two-month stall!

LOLLLLL! Evermind, you are too funny! I would LOVE to blow up my scale too, but I am too much of an addict . At least I am smart enough to keep off after eating olives or feta cheese or chinese for that matter(although last week I did get on after chinese for +1.5)...Don't lose hope...the inches are the most important anyways...that is what shows!!!

            Re: Scale Frustrations

NEVER--EVER---EVER----EVER weigh yourself on different scales. lol. You'll only make yourself insane because no two scales weigh things the same. If you are a scaleaholic like most of us, then you need your own personal scale.

Mine is a crappy $5.00 one I got from WalMart but it does the job and I know I'm losing.

Congrats on that huge " loss! That's tremendous!

OWL!!!!! slowly but surely! i lost more on OWL than i did on extended induction!

oh and, dont buy scales, use your tape measure, people see inches disappearing not the number on the scales!

But I love my scale!!! :::::hugs scale::::

lol. I actually need to buy a tape measure. I don't own one.

I used to work in a dr.s office and each room had its own scale and not one of them weighed me the same. Weird.

                    Re: Scale Frustrations

I've decided not to buy a scale as I think they are evil. I'll continue with my commitment to only weigh myself every 2 weeks. I'll continue to use the scale at my doctor's office.
The tape measure is my new best friend! Minus 9.5" & on the way to shedding more inches.

OWL ! OWL! Move to OWL!

The other times I did this WOE, I stayed on extended induction until I fell off the wagon. THis time, I moved almost immediately to the first rung of OWL after my two weeks of induction, and started losing again after a week of nothing. Plus, it's fun!
