  • so disappointed in myself.

    Well here I am AGAIN....seems i start off strong then lose my UMPH about 3 or 4 days into it. but I am deteremined to be cheat free!!! Today is day one.
    I really could use some encouragement, so if anyone feels like yelling...yell at me!! I've now "tricked" myself into believing that if it doens't cost alot, it can't be bad for you...I mean how FAT can you get on a .25cent little debbie snack? Well when you spend $1.00 on them...pretty fat. I'm also eating in private....on the way home or on the sly...so I know I'm out of control. I've never done that before but everyone at the house thinks I'm doing so well on atkins...I don't want them to know what a NON-LOSER I am....so here I am.
    Really asking for support (and prayers for those of your who believe in the power of prayer) to help me get this under control!

    Thumper- You CAN do it. Everyone needs a little push now and again, I have faith in you.
    You know what's weird? We keep looking at food like it's our "friend" or support group. Its not its just damned food. WE make the choices about what we eat. WE make the choices about when to eat. It's just food...that's it.
    If I remember correctly, if you read the ingredients on the Little Debbie stuff, lots of it is chemicals....ewwwww. You don't want that. Eat a hard boiled egg instead!

      It's really just me.....I've been struggling with alot of personal issues lately. Been really down on myself, so I've stopped caring about what I eat or going to the gym or any of the things that made me feel good about myself just 4 short months ago. Thank you for your support. I really am going to do this. My goal is to be 200 lbs by April of 2008 (my b/day). oh, and I did go to the gym today too. Day one 9:13 am and I'm going strong.

        I love the Zebra Cakes..........<sigh>

        But here's the deal. You need to commit to 7 full days without any illegal foods. Just 7. Tell yourself that you can have a snack after that, if you still want it.

        I can guarantee that after 7 days, you won't want it. You will definately want it after 3-4 days, which is where you are slipping up. You need to hold out.

        So, whenever you get the urge to have a bad food, grab a piece of cheese, or something else high in fat, and eat it first. Make sure you get your 3 cups of veggies in, and a LOT of fat at every meal. Get some exercise every single day. And post here at LEAST once a day.

            Thumper- Hang in there. You can do this. I used to eat after my family went to bed. In the car when I was alone etc.

            Instead of dwelling on it can you think of ways to be prepared so when you are having one of those urges you have soemthing else. Maybe you can keep a can of Almonds (or other favorite nuts) in your purse. I try to keep cheese in a small cooler and some sort of protein when ever I have to be in my car for long periods of time.

            I also have the Crystal Light packs for bottled water- so if I am craving something sweet that might help.

              Evermind, that's EXCELLENT advise.

              Thumper, when the going gets tough (and it does for ALL of us) we can't control it. What we CAN control is ONE THING. One base thing. We can control the hand to mouth action. When we stop putting our hand to our mouths with things that are bad, then the other stuff will work itself out. It really will.

              Don't try to do induction for more than two weeks either. Do induction, try to eat the higher carb veggies so that you are getting as close to 20 as you can from VEGETABLES and then immediately move into the ongoing weight loss phase and add MORE vegetables. Your body will thank you for it.
