  • Need Some Induction Recipes/ideas !!!

Please give me some good ideas for meals while on induction!
I have such a hard time espceially with dinners. I get so sick of the
ground beef or chicken every night. I want to be more creative and I am
not sure how to do this and stay within my 20 carbs (mostly green vegies).

Another thing, for when I get the cravings for sugar, I see the sugar free jello.
What kind of topping is allowed? Any other ideas for when I am craving sugar??

I want to be so successful this time around. I have the same typical menu and I find that I get bored with it. I know some of you have soem really great ideas!

    Please help :0

Excellent website with wonderful recipes. All recipes with an * are Induction friendly. I don't think sugar free jello is on the Induction list of accepatable foods. You may want to refer back to the DANDR book.

A lot of people eat sugar-free gelatin in induction. You can top it with whipped cream, or you can blend it before it sets with a block of creamcheese, then chill.

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

            Mini goals:
            215 - met 9/10/07
            205 - met 10/17/07
            195 - met 2/20/08
            180

            I survived a two-month stall!

Re: Need Some Induction Recipes/ideas !!!

I loved her site because the recipes had pictures and you can see how it all comes together. I was getting awfully hungry at most of them. I cannot wait to go grocery shopping and start making the wonderful recipes I have found. My big thing is the boredom part of it all. Same ol same ol. I have found out the hard way that low carb ice creams and atkin bars really can stall a person. I will not do that again! Looking forward to dinner tonight (for once in the past month or so...) YAY

Re: Need Some Induction Recipes/ideas !!!

I get tired of the chicken too. Do you like seafood?

                I like:
*Salmon with Paul Prodomme's Seafood Seasonings (in spice section). I wrap in in foil and bake or bbq for 20 min. You can also add a little melted butter.
*Shrimp. I buy frozen uncooked shrimp and then sautee them in butter, and garlic, salt and pepper, until pink. You can also make a great shrimp marinade with olive oil, minced garlic, garlic salt, and cayanne pepper and marinate uncooked shrimp for a half hour then bbq or sautee.
*Tuna. One inch thick. I marinate it in soy sauce, olive oil and some garlic salt for an hour and then put it right on the grill for 4 min. a side.
*Trader Joe's sells pre-marinated filets (in different varieties) that you can defrost and put right on the grill or in the oven.

                I also like:
*Lamb chops. I make a paste with chopped fresh mint, rosemary, and garlic, then coat chops with olive oil, put on the paste, brown them in pan with a little olive oil then cook at 350 about 15 min. (depending on how rare you like)
*Pork chops with garlic salt put on the bbq
*You can get a pre-marinated (such as peppercorn) pork loin and bbq it or bake it in the oven. Or if unmarinated, I just add garlic salt, and pepper
*I still love the bunless cheeseburger with mayo mustard mix to dip in

I think someone said jello isn't allowed, but in my DANDR book he uses that as one of his induction menu examples. Then you can make whip cream by whipping heavy cream with a little splenda.

The other thing I have if I'm dying for a sweet is a couple tablespoons of whipped cream cheese with a little bit of heavy cream and splenda. (But as you can see, there's carb count in each of those so you'd have to use minimal amounts).

Oh, and I discovered pumpkin here as a treat. From the can with a tablespoon of cream cheese and a little splenda. I believe it's 5 grams of carb per 1/2 cup of pumpkin--so that would have to count as your 'other veggies' serving.

I have gotten some great ideas in the food section. I've been really trying to vary things up so I don't get stuck in a rut like last time. It takes a lot of grocery shopping effort (!) I feel like I'm at the store every two days, but I love all the new things I'm discovering. Good luck in finding new things you like!
                FINISH IT!
