    Re: Wed 8/29 Roll Call

    Hello, Everyone

Yikes, I'm in a mood today. I'm hoping that it's because TOM is on his way... I used to be as regular as clockwork, but the last 2 years have really changed. It stays away for a couple of months, then comes and won't go away... I never know when I am "due" anymore. Usually the most telling sign is that I become a little, shall we say, bitchy. And I have been.

Sheepie and Lynsey, congrats on the losses! That always helps my mood.

Michelle and Kathy, I'm keeping fingers crossed for both of you to make goal for the LDC. I have a feeling that both of you will make it... I really hope so because you have worked hard. The scale can be so damned frustrating!

Evermind, sounds like you have this way of life down pat. Nice!

Patience... got to keep this in mind, myself. I'm usually good about it, but I'm letting my crabbiness today mess with my head. One good thing - I was sitting here earlier "stewing" in my misery and was dreading exercising and considering skipping it. I finally got off of my butt and biked for 10 miles outdoors. Glad I did. Kathy, I'm with you - I don't care much for exercise yet. I'm always glad I did it after it is over, but I've got to make myself do it. Hopefully that will get better when it's not 100 degrees outside anymore. Come on, Autumn!

Have a fine Atkins day, All!

      Re: Wed 8/29 Roll Call

Hello everyone! I am checking in late today it was a busy morning with getting kids off to their first day of school and taking the little ones to song and dance. Big change for me that will sound kind of petty probably but they always ask for parents to get up and do things like make a bridge or hold hands with the kids and I have always avoided it because I felt so large in such a small space and I also didn't want people seeing me ........ well this morning I did it I stood up and was a bridge for the dance section ........ I know like I said petty but for me it was a huge hurdle and I just wanted to share ....... it's nice to have a little self confidence returning! An added benefit to this WOL.

Jess thanks so much for your post this morning. I know I am quickly getting to where the weight will come off slower and patience is going to be so important for me. I can feel it. I lent my book to a friend about 2 weeks ago and I am just know coming to realize what a mistake that was. I can't ask for it back because she is so into it so I guess I am going to have to suck it up and go buy another. I need it with me all the time. Thanks for also reminding me of that

I can't tell you all enough what an inspiration you are to me daily!

Hello All, Third day of reinduction, and getting some wicked headaches. I have to say that life has been moving so fast lately that a month seems to be gone in the blink of an eye, so I hope that helps me feel like I'm achieving my goals faster. I am wondering about exercise. I work a job that I am on my feet constantly moving for a minimum of 9 hours a day. Does any one else have a job like this, and how much exercise do you do on the days you work? I haven't actually worked out yet, but I had two weeks off, and at the moment my job is kicking my butt. Hope everyone has had a healthy day, and all feel great about themselves. Lynsey, great job on the will power btw.

Hi Mandi...maybe get a pedometer and clip it on to yourself and that will at least give you an indication how many steps/miles you do in a day at work. Just a thought.

            Hi, Mandi

I work part time in a small boutique owned by my niece. I don't work a lot of days, but when I do they are usually long ones. On the days that I work, I never sit down and am always moving. This usually kinda does me in, so I never walk or ride my bike on those days. Sometimes I will do crunches and floor exercises on those days, but it is not uncommon for me to make some of those "rest days" and do no exercises... depends upon how I feel.

This works for me since I only work 2 to 3 days a week. My hat is off to everyone here who works lots of hours and manages to exercise. I don't know how I would fare... kudos to you all.

            Best Wishes

                Re: Wed 8/29 Roll Call

Great posts as usual...all things that are on my mind. I also keep my DANDR book close to me at all times. I'm working on reading more about OWL & chapters 20 to the end of the book. I'm realizing in the past I never really truly followed the program after an extended Induction. Despite reading the book I never truly followed the plan Dr. A laid out for us.

I hit the scale next Monday...maybe literally if it doesn't move more that 3.5#!! My capri pants are falling off me, my bras fit better, my scrubs fit better...I love that feeling!!!

I have such energy in the morning when I get up! Then I go to work where I'm on my feet all day sometimes in the same small area for long periods of time. I use my upper body alot holding instruments & moving overhead lights. I work in the operating room & it is hard physical work. By the time I get home after 8-10 hours I'm so wiped out that I'm having a really difficult time getting in my exercise. There are nights I'm in bed by 8:30. I know this is a huge part of the program so I'm really trying to work on this. The pool at the college is finally open on a regular basis as school is in session. So I'm shooting for at least 3 days a week to get my butt to the pool & swim and/or do laps in the pool. I'm so hoping that as I lose weight my job will become easier & I won't be so wiped out.

Thanks for listening & for being here!

Great Suggestion Sweet Strudel, Thank You!!!!!!!! And with that thought in mind MitziMarie, I could do my crunches and toning on the days when I work, and count work as my Cardio for those days. Then on days off go to the gym. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!
                  THANK YOU.
