  • Roll Call 8/30

    Lurkers, STACers.....people just waiting to start this, just start it like this:

    "roll call" it's (date) how are you doing? I am (fill in the rest)

    It's so simple, if something comes to mind you are pondering, share it...If nothing comes to mind, don't worry, just start the thread....

    Everybody is different...some will remember birthdays, and celebrations....I will not major in that one.

    some will post often and follow important situations, I am working on that one.

    Some get up and come here, needing the inspiration, I usually have been chewing on something...

    Some of you are deeply inspirational...and should step up more often!

    Some of you need us

    Some of you need a place to belong

    All of us need each other

    All of us need the focus that STAC can provide...

    Good Morning Jess ........... your right I have been checking in for about an hour ........ but would I have thought to start the post ........ noooooooo! LOL I am not good at being inspirational! I haven't been here long enough to have great knowledge or wisdome to impart but I can and will start a thread saying good morning! So I apologise for leaving it up to you!

    On that note ............ Good Morning!!!!!!! I am off to playgroup with my younger kiddos this morning ......... I did my second run of week two last night and it actually felt good for the first time! Yeah! Other then that not much to report! I hope you all have a beautiful day!

      Good morning everyone. I can't believe I'm second this morning! Or even third! Jess your new pic is lovely, the change is remarkable.

      You're right Jess, everyone has something important to contribute to make us a solid whole.

      I made sausage this morning with a side cup of broccoli. It was delicious. I've found eating veggies in the morning helps starve off the hunger most of the day. My scale is up a pound but I'm not letting that get me down, because I know it's water. It rained yesterday and I didn't get my walk/run. I really miss it too. Exercise has given me so much more energy.

        Hello! It is my friday today ...Had a great workout this morning. I have bad knees and hadn't run for years...Well, I have started...first week I could do 2 minutes consecutive before being in pain (and out of breath)...this week I am up to 9 minutes consecutive...I am SOOOOOO excited...haven't been able to do that since I was 16! LOL !

        Hope everyone has a Legal motivated happy day!

          I'm like Heidi, I really didn't have anything really inspirational, so I was going to let someone else start this morning. And from looking at the posts, there's been several people letting someone else start! LOL

          I promise, I won't "leave it up to someone else" again. If I'm here and no one's posted roll call, I'll start, even if it's just "Roll Call...everyone check in" and nothing else. LOL Sorry, Jess. Maybe if you weren't so good at starting roll call and being such an inspiration, others might be inclined to "help". But considering you ARE such a motivating inspiration, can you really blame us?

          My nephew called me a "trooper" last night. I was at the gym and decided to kick some things into high gear. He was waiting for me to lay down and pant for awhile and I said "I'm here, let's get it done"...and he said I was a trooper! LOL It IS getting easier. Still hurts, still wears me out, but not as bad or as soon. I just have to remember this isn't something I'm going to do for awhile and leave behind, it's something I have to make a permanent part of my life for the rest of my life! Just call me "Tranny Granny" 'cause I'm kicking it into high gear!

            GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD morning!

            Ta da!!!!!!!!!!! Evermind has done her weigh-in (official, it's the 30th) and is proud to announce that in her first month back on this woe, she has lost NINETEEN POUNDS OF ICKY FAT!

            Now that is amazing, since the other two times I did this woe, I didnt lose NEARLY so much in the first month.

            I attribute it to: Starting OWL after 2 weeks and starting to run using the couch to 5k.

            I can't wait to measure on the 9th!

            Heidi, I'm so happy for you that the run was actually a good experience this time - isn't it wonderful when that happens? And you're only on week TWO! WOO HOO!

            I don't know which kind of poster I am from Jess' list, but I know that I need all of you guys (you're my support team) and I definately belong here. So thanks again, every single person who posts here, for giving me what I need.

              OH NO my dear you are very wrong there...YOU DO have the inspiration, you just haven't mustured up the courage to share with us.....shame on you (LOL).....Believe me, I would love to hear any words of inspiration any of you want to share. dont' be afraid that your inspiration will not measure up to others that post....don't be afraid that people will read you post and say "What do they know? What makes them think they can start a thread?" JUST DO IT, and you will find that many people lurking really needed to hear what you have to say.....look deep inside you (I know this sounds like the Lion King movie) hee hee.....Be accountable for you successes by sharing with others.....That's all....

                Good morning...it's day 6 of my re-start. And I am PMSing HARD CORE! Just feeling 100% unloved and would rather be under the covers at home than at work.

                I had a busy night last night, quick ate 2 boiled eggs before going to a pot luck, which had NO low carb foods (including the jumbo donuts I brought as a dish to pass). I just reminded myself that I wasn't hungry, I knew I wouldn't have time to make something low carb to bring, and so eating the eggs was fine, and I made it through the night just fine.

                Then, for the first time in a year, I oversleep, am out of low carb breakfast shakes, and speed to work. Don't have any snacks left here.

                Plus, had an argument with my bf on the way to work about showing me affection - which turns into a vicious circle of - if you ask for it, it's not special - and me saying, I'm not getting it, so I have to ask, and then I still don't get it.

                Ugh! Lord help me change my attitude, control my PMS, and have a positive day.

                Thank you 2nd timers for even listening!

                  Oh, man! While I was writing my response, several people posted. I hate when that happens!

                  Mickey - hey, thanks for that tip about eating veggies in the a.m. I am going to try it today.

                  Guek - hey, congrats on that swift increase in exercise. I am continually amazed by our stories of how fast we can move up the duration. It is a lesson to me that just because I start out very slow or awkward at something, it's not going to take me months and months to see an improvement.

                  Byker - wow. You ARE a trooper! I'm going to read your post again before I go to the gym tomorrow afternoon. If you can do it, so can I.

                  Blazin - you keep saying what I mean to say before I can say it. STOP STEALING THE WORDS FROM MY BRAIN! <giggle>

                  Michigan - hang in there, girl. This, too,shall pass. Can I ask why you are having low carb shakes in the morning? They're a known staller. Plus, the sugar alcohols will affect your mood. As for that bf, what does he know? You're right. So there.

                    Evermind is right, you need to ditch the lo carb shakes, it's a good thing you are out of them, sugar alcohols do stall you and alter your mood... As for men (boys) most need to be reminded of what to do....i have dh trained, but I had to train him and I always have to ask for what I want, but at least when I ask, I get it....most men are willing to give, just give em a reminder once in a while...and CHEER UP

                      I bought the shakes because I knew they'd be quick. Well - I'm out of them anyway, so I think I'll replace them with ready to eat bacon strips. I have always been a sucker for not having enough time to make something decent, so grabbing whatever's available. That's part of my problem. I know I'd be on a better track if I took the time to prepare foods in advance so they're ready when I am.

                      And thank's for the "you're right". That never gets old for a woman to hear LOL!

                          Morning STACers! I have to say, I must be one of the late risers, becasue the roll call thread is already started every day (or on the days I get up at 0 dark thirty I don't get a chance to get on before heading to the office or the river). But I want to say that it IS something I look forward to every morning. I grab my 1 allowed glass of iced tea first thing in the morning, put something on for breakfast, boot up the computer and go straight to ADBB to see what the inspirational messages of the day are. I appreciate all of you sharing this journey with me, it makes it alot less lonely, and even fun at times.

                              This WOE is almost impossible to do correctly unless you prepare and preplan your food. Quick foods (packaged) will stall you, i had to train myself for 2 weeks to preplan, but I have it down now and It works wonders.
