    Good Morning Stacers!
Well, can't sleep... so thought I'd get a jump on the world... at 2am western time and post while ya'll get your beauty sleep! Never did this before... hope ya don't mind...
We picked up our ds at midnight thirty who just came home from Maui with the football team... They had a great time! I tell you that young man is a big inspiration to me... He just gets up every morning before the sun and goes off to lift wts at breakfast club, run, workout... what ever they do in addition to regular after school practice... and I mean EVERYDAY! He gives his heart and soul to the game... 100% every time! So much passion and love for football, fitness, health... doesn't eat junk... I'm not just a proud mama... but I have a son I want to be like... He has disapline and dedication...I think that's way cool... and I want him to be proud of me too. This WOE has given us more in common and I know he is happy to see me working out... doing my pushups, situps... going for walks, riding the bike, starting to run... by being faithful, we encourage eachother without saying a word. It's very powerful. Just doing the right thing, making the right choices and dealing with all the challenges that come up along the way.
Anyways, maybe I can sleep now! lol!
Have a great Sunday! I have a potluck challenge today at Church... hasn't been a problem in the past but am having lots more cravings lately... TOM's lurking... but that's all it is a challenge. The choice is easy once we see it for what it is.

Good morning! I just got out of work about an hour and a half ago, and I'm about to go to sleep, but I thought I would post before bed, rather than after I wake up!

Liz, how awesome is your son? I have very little discipline. I am slowly trying to change that, though!

Have a great day, everyone! I plan to spend the next 8-9 hours in dreamland!

Good Morning.. This is the first year my son isn't playing football and its weird I miss it.. although we went to my daughters high school teams game last night..it wasn't pretty..we lost 42-0.. But we have NO Seniors on our team either..because its a new school and the Seniors remained at the old schools this year..

I am working this morning.. I don't normally do that on Sunday mornings..but we are short of help...since College students went back... Have no clue what we are fixing (work in a campground dining hall) then its a meeting at 3...then youth at 4:30... Busy day.. But Tuesday is coming and I am looking forward to getting on track...

        Just checking in.

I wouldn't know what it's like to have a son so motivated and disciplined. My son's pretty much a failure. In fact, I'm surrounded by failures.

My eldest (19yrs) is so laid back, he is comatose. We have supported him in everyway possible over the last 19yrs and he thanks us by stealing money from my purse and anything else he takes a fancy to. Im sick to death of people saying 'oh how can you not make him work' and ' I wouldn't put up with that in my house'. I have backed off big time this year from pushing him anymore, as I was starting to hate him!!

Im more than happy to put a roof over his head and to feed him, but thats where it ends. Until he finds out for himself what he wants to do in life, I don't think he is going to sort himself out.

Its not fair on his younger sister and its not fair on our marriage and its taking over our family life.

But other than that ......... its been quite a good day. I ate panfried Guinea Fowl yesterday, which was yummy.

              Good morning, all!

HopeJoy, I have a nephew like that. He was very disciplined in high school when it came to his health. He LIVES for football and had a lot of teammates who did also. They had a great senior year, almost making it to state. He's in Iraq right now - I keep praying he'll be home safe and sound in time for pro football. (GO PACK GO!)

A lot of broken sleep due to partiers last night, but not too bad today. Trying to get things done this morning so we can spend the day on the lake. My LL is getting wimpy so I'll push it today on the stairs going down to the dock. I can't remember how many steps there are to it, I know at least 20, maybe 30. I should go to my brother's every day and use them 4 or 5 times simply for the exercise.

I truly relaxed last night with crossstitching. It was nice - no more pressures about finding jobs. It was so sweet!

              Have a great day, everyone!

                Good morning all...
Liz that's great that your son is so challenged and you are so motivated around him.. I have 5 kids, 2 are lazy couch potatoes (15YO and 12YO)and 2 are athletic and motivated(11YO and 14YO) in all they do including getting good grades...it's funny isn't it?...the baby, well i don't know about her yet, but she does favor the more active kids, since they are always up playing with her. I can relate in both ways.
Byker, your post sounded kind of down this morning.....I know you didn't go into details but here's a big ole hug fur yah..... Maybe we can get our couch potato kids together and give THEM a challenge eh?
gotta get ready for Church, in a challenge this month to get there on time all month....wish me luck....

Good Morning everyone! Happy Sunday to you all! I can so relate to the issues with kids. I have had my share of them through the years all though I have to say now things are pretty smooth. All three of my older girls are out and settled.(22,20,1 My oldest at home a son is very motivated both in sports and his education so I am very blessed there. I am hoping that motivation will keep him on the straight and narrow as he enters the tough years (he just turned 15) Hillary whos 11 is still young and trouble hasn't found her yet, as are the two little ones ........ Caleb 3 and Livy 2. Time will tell with them. The one thing I can tell you is that all you can do is your best ........ raise them right teach them the difference between right and wrong and even if they depart from your teachings if you hold fast to what you believe they will eventually come around. It was a long hard battle with my oldest ....... got into drugs and alcohol, bad friends really went astray. Ran away at 16 and and on and on ........but our realtionship has healed and we are close now. She has told me many times she gets it now why I was strict with her and how sorry she is .........It does all come around if you are patient!

We are headed off to go overnight camping tonight. The only thing I see me being tempted with is Smores!!!!!!! But I plan to conquer that and not succomb!

Happy Labor day to those of you from the states!!!!! Happy Atkins days ahead to all!!!!!!

                    Re: Roll Call 9/2

Good morning STACers! Just wanted to give all the moms a great big (((HUG))) this morning. Its ironic, because I have 5 kids 5-21, and I could relate to almost everything everyone posted with one child or another. All I can say for those going through a difficult time is to just hold your ground. When you feel like you can't give them any more because they have torn you so deep to the core, just provide their basic needs and give them some space and more times than not things turn around in a few years times (I know that sounds like an eternity). But my number 2 son will be 20 on Tuesday and has recently moved back home and life is once again enjoyable with him in the household. There were a few years between the ages 15-18, that I wasn't sure I could exist one more moment under the same roof as him. But I did, he tried life on his own for a little after turning 18 and came back home at 19 a new man. My 21 year old has always been the strict disciplined one, with good grades, and he's getting ready to enlist in the Army. So I'm afraid I may soon be in tmn's shoes praying for his safe return. It's amazing that any of us have time for ourselves when we let the others have a glimpse into our real lives. Have a great day all, and make time to love youself today.

                      G'morning!

I stayed up way too late last night reading, and when the alarm went off this morning so I could get up and run, I turned over and dozed until just about 5 minutes ago. So much for a really early a.m. run!

I'm going to the beach later, though, and I will run there, I think.

Yesterday was a complete exercise rest day for me, unintentionally. My dh came home from work sick, so I stayed with him instead of going to the gym. It was actually very nice just to lie in bed and veg.

I'm savoring this weekend, hope y'all are, too.
