    Good morning. I don't even remember if I checked in yesterday. It's been less than grand here. But my spirit is still strong and my determination steady. Spent most of my day at my Mothers. She had a very bad day yesterday what with high fever, pain and exhaustion. Cancer does that to people. But her spirit is even stronger than mine and her determination steadfast.

    She's very happy I'm back on Atkins and happier that I'm working out at a gym this time. She knows how important good eating habits and good activity (translation for me is exercise) are to a good life. She goes to a homeopathic doctor as well as the nutritionists at Cancer Treatment Center and eating natural, unadulterated and pure foods are key to good health and fighting off bad things, and even fighting back very bad things like cancer. She even said something yesterday that I remember reading here. "You eat to live, you don't live to eat." Food is fuel, nothing more, and like any fuel, good fuel makes the engine run good...bad fuel clogs the engine and makes it sputter, spit and stall....

    That's your thought for the day. Food is fuel, nothing more, nothing less. Remember to put only GOOD FUEL in your engine.
    Drink more water!

    Your are so right Byker, we need to think of food as fuel, not a treat....like my instructor used to say "eat to survive, don't survive to eat.

      Good Morning, Great thoughts Byker thanks for sharing your moms pearls.
      I am doing much better yesterday and so far today, can feel the ketosis. This works much better when I do not do the turtle modified version. I appreciate your encouragement to keep on track. Gettin rdy for work, but this is where my day really starts.

        Morning everyone I just read a great post, "Dr Atkins says" by Shannon it's really good, it's about abusing induction and loosing the edge that it provides...I was very impressed with the parts she quoted.
        Today is a major rest day as we prepare for our triathalon tomorrow....I am so excited. I think I am getting an infection in my first finger, which is making it hard to type, and it's ballooning up...the skin is tight and it is getting hot....might be off to the clinic thismorning....very strange...
        Hope everyone has a great day, I'll be around at some point tomorrow, but not til pretty LATE!

          Mich...gonna miss you. Stay legal while you are away, but have fun! You can do both!

          Speedy...glad you are doing much better today. Back on the fast track!

          Jess...Best of luck in your tri tomorrow. Get that finger looked at...the last thing you need is an infection raging through your body! Kick azz tomorrow girl!

          As for me, I do my C25K workout this morning. Will wait til my dd has gone to work. Going to do some cleaning in the spare bedroom and more laundry. Pretty exciting stuff huh? I'm on track but dying to weigh myself...darn No Weigh Challenge! Its definately a challenge for this girl.

            Morning, all!

            I tried to post about an hour and a half ago, but it kept timing out so I would lose the entire post. Bummer.

            Anyway, this morning I ran two miles (which is amazing in itself, but also when you realize that exactly a month ago I was running for 30 seconds and walking for 60.....) and it was good. Very good.

            My big success today has already happened - I brought my lunch to school, not my daughter's. (memo to Evermind: Yours is in the BIG BLUE COOLER and contains foods you can eat; hers is in the LITTLE BROWN PAPER BAG and contains foods you must avoid). Heck, with the right lunch, my day is MADE, baby!

            Last night my dh, who has been dealing with the flu for the last week, was able to tackle the kitchen again. TA-DA!!!!!!!!!! We now have HOT AND COLD RUNNING WATER, A DISPOSAL, and a DISHWASHER installed! WOO HOO! No more doing dishes in the bathtub! Life is good. What more does a person need?

            So.......have lunch, have kitchen plumbing. Want for nothing. Life is good.

            Byker - you and your mom hang in there.

            Jess - often helps to bring a diagnosis to the dr. Mine appreciates it, I'm sure, when I come in and just share with him the dx, so all he has to do is write a prescription. Example? Well, I had leprosy of the kidneys once (for which he prescribed a medication almost identical to that for a bladder infection!) and last year I had malaria of the nostril, which he was able to cure by simply cauterizing it. Try it! <grin>

            Speedy - amazing how well following the rules works, huh? I've tried my own version of Atkins too, and it never really went well.

              It's been busy around my end here. I'm trying to FORGET THE SCALE with this weigh no weigh challenge and it's harder than I thought it would be. The baby keeps me pretty busy though so although I am tempted, I really don't have the time to even step on the thing--let alone drag it out from the deep dark depths of under my bathroom sink where I stashed it.

              I'm also not counting inches this week. In a strange way it's kind of liberating to be free from both. Sometimes I feel like a slave to the scale and the measuring tape.

                I'm here, and feeling much, much better after hopping back onto the wagon. I went shopping. Spent and UNPLEASANT amount of money on appropriate foods, and am feeling MUCH better about the variety that's gonna keep me on track!

                YAY!!! Day 1 cheat free!!! (Plus supper last night - does that count too!) Heck yeah it does! I'm on my way!

                  Now much going on here. Just chugging along. Dh is home from a business trip, so I hope this weekend to go walking or rollerblading. I'm finally feeling thinner!

                    Good morning all,

                    Well, today is my 4th day and I'm dragging my tail. Got up at 7 am, fixed lunch and breakfast, walked 1 mile and now I'm at work. The induction flu is REAL. (WOW!).

                    Byker, prayers for you and your mom.

                        Yesterday I was OOT sending dd off to college. Now she's gone for 3 months. (sniff)
                        Overslept, will have to exersize after I get home from Paul Mitchell School and hair coloring session... yippee! can't wait!
                        Well, better eat something, don't want to go on an empty tank.

                            TGIF-I am ready for the weekend. Yippy I can sleep in tomorrow. Friday's are always tough for me because I get home so late on Thursdays.

                            Byker- I wish you and your family the best. Living with the C monster is very difficult and I know what you are going through.

                            Jess- Have a great day tomorrow. I know you will have a great time. You are so ready for this. We will be anxiuosly waitng to hear how awesome it was, and how powerful you felt.

                              Good Afternoon.. I almost forgot to post today... What a day its been. I was going to go to water aerobics again this morning when I dropped my daughter off to school. Went in the cabinet to get a towel.. THERE WERE NONE..GRRR.. I had some in the washer..but of course no one told me that last night when I could have thrown them in..GRR So instead I ran some errands and went to the grocery store.

                              I have a migraine.. Part of it is that its Day 4 of being back on track. Part of it is TOM I am actually going to go lay down for a nap. I feel so blah.

                              Tomorrow I am working at the dining hall..the one with all the carbs.. I have plans to take me some food with me..Well at least some protein..we have a great salad bar.. NO EXCUSES this time...
