      Re: Roll Tuesday 9/11

It's hard to believe six years have passed. I remember every moment of that day so vividly.

I have a lot to be thankful for. My life in general is pretty awesome. I have a loving family. I have a boyfriend who loves me (regardless of my weight) and truly cares about my happiness. We have a nice home. We both have cars. I have a job I love. We just moved to AZ and things are going very well. I have the cutest pug in the world! The list goes on and on. What a great topic!

I have time for a quick post. It was a busy day and I'm exhausted. I hope everyone got a chance to stop and smell the roses today.

Gosh I'm late today posting. I've had a hard day, not diet wise, just in general.

Boy do I remember 9-11-01. I remember getting up that morning and heading outside and thinking it was the most beautiful day I had seen in a long time. The sky was clear, the air was fresh, and the humidity that had been with us all summer was totally absent. I wasnt in my car very long before I heard the report of the first plane, followed by the second. I kept driving to work, stunned, when I heard a plane was heading towards DC (I was driving northbound on Rt. 1 in Alexandria, VA just about 10 miles south of DC). I was in my office parking lot a few minutes later, and looked accross the street north towards the Potomac River and saw the smoke billowing from the Pentagon. I rushed into the office and turned off the cd my co-workers were listening too and said "we have to hear what's going on". It was confirmed that a plane had hit the Pentagon and another was heading towards DC. I immediately left work, to get home to my 3 kids who I had left with my 14 year old because hubby had to run out for a bit. Fighter jets, blasted over top of our heads rattling the house for days, weeks, months later. My house was right inside the boundary of the no fly zone once flights were resumed, but the fighter jets circled over us constantly. I was convinced for a year that if a plane ever tried to breach the no fly zone, they would take it down right in my back yard, as they weren't letting them get any closer. It's almost like a dream when I think about it all. Having to take my middle school kids to funerals in the following weeks for parents of their friends who were killed at the Pentagon, was so heartbreaking, the way the kids huddled and held candlight vigiles together. Maybe a little PTSD is playing in to my bad day today, hadn't considered that. But as many tradgedies and miracles happened that day, my much wanted and long awaited sweet daughter was conceived on that very day.

YAY Sheepie on finallly getting your sweetener!

YAY Sandy! I told you you were due a whooshie.

To everybody else, I hope your hearts and souls continue to mend from that tragic day.
