    2. Start a journal stat log and for fun a journal chat log.

    3. Join a few challenges

    4. If you've been here long enough...reach out and be a mentor to a newbie.

For me i need to be a mentor...so off i go to find them

Good morning . Im Laurie and Im so happy to have you all here, very grateful. This is my second time doing Atkins and today is my third day in Induction. My start weight was 269. Its a great morning, still feel kind of lost with the plan but Im using fit day and reading DANDR. I got on the scales this morning, couldnt help it lol. I weigh 260. I made sure the scales were in the exact same place and kept stepping on and off, seeing if it could possibly be right. Same reading, over and over. Man this is a great day.

Vacation comes to an end today. I'm glad to be going back home as I miss my bed, my cats & the cooler weather. I'll be glad to be back in my own little environment where I feel I have more control. Although I will miss my DD tremenously.

I'm glad to be going back home as I've had a few slips while in Memphis. I'm not beating myself up as I could have easily gotten out of control. I've walked alot & kept up with my H2O most days. I'm grateful for the ADBB as reading everyone's post has helped me.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!! Thanks for listening!

                Re: Sat roll call 9/22

                Well, hello, everyone!

Today was supposed to be a fast day for me, but my rabbi told me and a couple of other people doing this woe not to fast. It will devastate our blood sugar, he said, and is a setup for a binge at break-fast. That, he said, is setting yourself up to sin as soon as you are done atoning!

I couldn't agree more. I had been trying to figure out if I could just have a dash of cream every few hours, but this makes more sense: I'm going to eat. There are many things to do to atone, and fasting is not required for many people.

I've been doing a lot of reflecting this week and was up several times last night "reflecting" - actually, my brain was just not letting go of painful subjects: for the last 3 days in a row, a colleague of mine has dumped 3 years of resentments on me, and it's been painful. She didn't even stop after our principal told her she was unreasonable, untruthful, and needed to end it! I spent about an hour yesterday in tears. I was hoping that was that, but obviously my mind needed to keep working it through.

Which leads me to my reflection: So many times we decide that we know something, or are done with something, or understand something fully, and it turns out.........we don't. Our brains are smarter than our hearts. They are hard-wired to keep processing or to WANT to keep processing, even when our hearts are saying "ok, got it! Nuff!".

                Which is why.........

                1. Even though I know exactly why I have eaten unhealthy food and too much of it, I still need to think about it on a regular basis.

                2. Even though I know all about how to eat on this woe, I still need to read articles and the DANDR book.

                3. Even though I know all about being patient, and letting my body take the weight off at its own rate, I still need to experience the impatience, and then talk my way out of it.

Some of us do this with self-talk. Some with journaling. Some with mentoring. Some with just coming here and posting.

Just like with atoning (or a bazillion other things in life), there are many ways to do it. We just have to find the right ones for the right situations!

Hey Evermind! Your post hit the spot like a ton of bricks...Did me good to see (once again) that I am not the only one asking myself questions, not the only one who NEEDS to come here many times a day to keep myself on track and to know that I am not alone...to know that I am not the only one with trials and tribulations in my personal and professional life, and that those trials are not an excuse to give up on everything. Thanks to everyone on these boards...you all inspire in different ways...

Hi well its day 3 of induction and besides having to run to the ladies room every 10 minutes everything is fine. I've been able to keep my net carbs to under 20 even with my soy shake so I am doing good there. I'm not drinking as much water as I should be so I'll have to add that to my list of things to work on. Well I have tons of work to get done today just wanted to check in real quick.

                          Good Morning STAC'ers

Happy Saturday! I have another beautiful busy day planned. We will be hosting our neighbors for dinner, drinks and poker. I have to work on the menu but I am thinking about BBQ Turkey Burgers with all the fixings. I will wrap min in lettuce. I will make a few different vegi's maybe cucumbers in vinegar/water and a nice salad.

I am doing most of the things Blazin suggests except the fitday. I write mine down in a food journal. I simply can not bring myself to use fit day again yet.... It is to time consuming (I have plenty of experience with it) I think it is a great tool and I may use it again.

                          Have a great day

                              Hello, again!

I don't know what's up with the pictures lately. Several people have said that they can't see my pics, but I'm looking at them right now! Although, this morning for a little while and last night for a little while, all I could see was a red X where the pics should be. So, I think it is something with the board sometimes, maybe? I don't know why they are there sometimes and not others. But like I said, it's only been a couple of times for a short peroid of time that I couldn't see them. In case y'all still can't see my current pic, I'll try to paste it into this post. Here goes... (it's kinda big)

This pic is at 143 pounds. I weigh once a week on Sundays and weighed 139 last Sunday. That makes tommorow a weigh day. We'll see what happens.

Evermind, your post was awesome. I can't imagine being in the position of having someone dump on me like that... wow. That had to hurt. On the brighter side, I think the advice that your rabbi gave you about the fast was very practical and right on. Your heart is in the right place, and you will find a meaningful, personal way to atone.

Sherri, baby! Yes, I have thought about you... but I knew you hadn't gone far. It is great to have you back. Yes, I was strutting around the boutique yesterday in my new size 8 jeans and a new top I had gotten. Customers who come in every few weeks or so are really starting to notice the difference and just kind of stare at me when they are talking to me now. Pretty good for the ego...

Julie, I know that Fitday is a giant pain in the a$$ at first. But, with practice and some shortcuts, it is not time consuming at all. Seriously, I can do a whole days worth of data in a total of 10 minutes, tops. I will be the first one to admit that it can be quite frustrating, until you learn it well and customize it to your needs. If you haven't see some of the posts I have made recently about making Fitday easier and you want me to re-post them, I will find them and do that. Just let me know.

OK, I have more that I could say, but we have discovered fleas in my son's bedroom. Yikes... it's from his cat, who pretty much lives in there with him. So I have to engage in Operation Flea Removal. Wish me luck!
