  • Re: Kentucky Derby . . . . . . Keeping on Track

Hey all, I'm here. I no it's been a while since I've really sat down and written. It's past midnight and I have to get up early for work tomorrow (and feeling so depressed about it). Oh well, this will pass. I really think my thyroid pushes me into these mini funks. I'll be better by morning.

I walked 30 minutes today and the foot is already angry at me. I also did 10 minutes of strength training (chest and back) with 2 lb. weights. My arms felt like they'd cave - burned like they were on fire!! I'll be so glad when I build up strength. I used to do 30 minutes of toning with 5 lb. weights so I feel like a weakling right now. No more walking. I've learned my lesson. On a positive note, I found some orthotics for the Morton's Neuroma (cancelling the cortisone shot tomorrow). The orthotics are $80 (ouch) but hopefully it will help me balance. I tend to pronate my feet outwards. I'm going to try to do 150 minutes of exercise per week but not sure.

Oh, btw, I just spoke with someone that said we had to have exercise challenges approved by Jimmie. I don't want a full forum. I want it to be just us (feel more comfortable with just us). Anyone know what to do about this? I don't want us to get in trouble.

My closet was a hot mess!! I've not cleaned it (as far as getting rid of clothes of mine since I've been here - 2.5 years). It was much needed. I dropped 2 large garbage bags of clothes off at Goodwill yesterday and am sending a bag of clothes to my cousin.

Oh well, must get to bed. Goodnight Sunny, Kass, Sherri, Marty, Jersey, and Sweets. If I forgot someone I apologize. Being sleepy does not help my ability to think straight.

I start my anti-yeast diet tomorrow, and I am already feeling deprived. I did it before, but this time I am cutting out more things like coffee and green tea. I have put all my pickles, sf jams and cheese in a veggie drawer in the fridge so I can't see them. I might have to drill holes and put on a padlock! I think I will even cut out eggs this time. That's the only thing I have never tried cutting out. Lots of people are allergic to eggs and I have eaten them at least 830 days out of the last 838 days (that's how many days I've been on Atkins). I use close to 3 dozen per week. I know I have to do something to start feeling better...fast!

Sunny, I too am experiencing a yeast problem. I will do something about mine soon. The inside of my bottom teeth are a little yellowish. the last time I went to the dentist he was able to scrape it all off. I haven't really worried about it because people cant see the back side of my bottom teeth. I am also going to try and get more B5. Does this help??

So to be on the safe side, lets not call it an exercise challenge. Let's just say we are woking on personal goals. We are all challenging ourselves differently, so I don't think of this as the formal forum exercise challenges.

        Does this sound ok ladies?

I have to read up on more of the posts but from what I can see its a personal exercise challenge right?

I have until tomorrow to hit my day 7 goal and I believe I will! I stayed on the eating plan through the holiday but had a few low carb beers so I'm sure that is the reason for todays number being up. I was down to 146.5 on Friday! I can do it! YAHOO!

You guys are so motivating that I'm going to do my power 90 dvd tonight!

Is Grapefruit Seed Extract legal on Atkins? If so, it will wipe out that yeast infection for the both of you almost instantly. You can get more info at www.pureliquidgold.com. I had strep 4 months straight and antibiotics would not help. I took this for 3 days and the strep was gone (finally had a negative strep test). I love how it knocks out everything. The only problem: very bitter. I had to mix in Hi-C orange and not too long ago Diet Coke to mask the taste. It's potent though and it works.

I bought a new scale. My other went bonkers and started giving me different weights in a matter of minutes - 204.5, 205.5, 206, and 209. This one is stable (even after 10 minutes). The downer: 207.2. Instead of the 205 the other showed over the weekend. Ugh!! However, this one falls in line with my Mom's (different brand) so I'm going to stick with this and go from there.

Don't worry about that difference on the scale, you have still lost the same amount!

Sunny - is the yeast problem a result of eggs? I don't know too much about that except that they say when you have too many antibotics to eat yogurt?

Awww, thanks Tracey! That's so sweet of you to say! Do you have the induction flu? I had a really bad bout of nausea right before Thanksgiving. It turned out to be a sinus infection (even though I wasn't congested). It was horrific. I didn't want to eat anything.

I did my tickers for my challenges because I like the way they look. I'm just geeky that way. LOL!!! I don't think you have to do it, unless you want to.
