  • October goals: announce and report

    Ok, folks, if you want to set some goals for the month, here's the place to do it. Then, during the month, periodically pop in and post an update about how you are doing.

    By October 31, 2007, I will have:

    1. Run 24 miles
    2. Begun to do my yoga tape a minimum of 2 days a week
    3. Drunk 64 oz of water at least 4 days out of 7
    Start date: 7/29/2007

    Scale: SW:235 CW:193
    GW:150

    Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

    Mini goals:
    215 - met 9/10/07
    205 - met 10/17/07
    195 - met 2/20/08
    180

    I survived a two-month stall!

    1. Keep up with my stats journal.
    2. Keep up with my challenges.
    3. STAY AWAY FROM CAKE (even the sugar free stuff!) I have no more b-days until next year so this one should be easy--lol.

      My October goals:
      Drink 96 oz of water per day for 5 out of 7 days
      Do at least some form of exercise 5 out of 7 days

        1. Drink 1 gallon of water 5 days per week
        2. Do some kind of exercise at least 3 days per week

        I'm trying to be realistic with the exercise!

          Kristen - the key to success is being reasonable and realistic. Whenever I've said things like "I will work out 6 days a week" I invariably fail and then give up completely.

            Housework counts as exercise!! Instead of just vaccuming--turn up the stereo and dance the dirt away. If you have stairs, take laundry up bit by bit, so you have to make more trips. If not, fold the stuff and make multiple trips putting it all away. Wash the dishes by hand instead of letting the dishwasher do them. Then dry them all and put them all away one by one.

            See, you can sneak in the exercise and never feel it!

              I might have posted my October goals else where....
              • I will keep strenth training my core and start my arms at some point this month (depending on what my personal trainer uhm hubby says).
              • I will get 5 miles a week on a combination of the treadmill, stationary bike or ellipitical.
              • swim 1.5 hours a week
              • drink 80 oz of water daily

                My October Goals .........

                * Drink 64 ounces of water a day!
                * Succeed at all my challenges!!!!
                * Do 30 minutes on the Eliptical 4 times a week (min)
                * Lose 5 lbs
                * Get a tape measure!
                * Get my toe fixed so I can run again!

                I dropped my water down to a basic minimum I know it should be more but I was not making it last month so I am trying to be more realistic with myself and not get overwhelmed trying to drown myself.

                I so want to lose 10 lbs this month but again I wanted it to be more realistic and the loss is slowing down a bit ....... UGH

                Does this mean I am whimping on my goals??? I don't want to downsize my goals just so I can succeed but I also don't want to secure the fact that I will fail ............. fine line huh???????

                  I WILL:

                  1). 1-hour cardio M-F / weight circuit training M-W-F

                  2). Moderate exercise at home on weekends

                  3). KEEP this induction clean!

                  I don't care about pounds, I will be a healthier, fitter me (with looser clothes ), by the 31st of this month and I won't EVEN think about touching Daniel's halloween candy on the 1st!
                  Ride a draft horse, it'll make your butt look smaller!

                    I will:


                    1. Get 1000 hours of exercise in.
                    2. Started LC again on 10-1, will still be going strong on 10-31
                    3. Stay positive!

                    We can do this, it is for our health! Yes, after 3 days I already feel better!

                      Ok! Well, I finally started yoga today, so I'm now at the beginning of that goal.

                      Water is still a problem. But it's getting better. I don't make 64 oz very often, but I for sure do 50 oz every day. Which is WAY better than before.

                      Jogging - I may not make the 24 mile mark, because I had to take some time off due to a hip problem and a bladder infection. But I'm going to get as close as I can.

                      It's a good thing these are GOALs, and not CHALLENGES! With a challenge, you can fail. With a goal, you get close or you hit it.

                        Count me in my goals to reach between now and oct 31st are

                        1) sucessfully complete both my squat and crunch challanges
                        2) drink 64 ozs of water a day
                        3) earn atleast 4000 points towards my presidental fitness challange

                        humm I think I better make this my last challange/goal before I wind up over commited lol

                          I was sick (still a little icky) for a week so I did not exercize at all. Today was my first day back. Yesterday was suppose to be but I had a nice little fight with hubby and that made me want to clean my house so I did a deep cleaning while stewing .....

                          Feeling much better today (still a little bit angry with hubby) I went to the gym and did my thing. I over did it and my lower back was talking to me. I took a muscle relaxer and now I feel like sleeping. I did manage a mile on the tm in 18 minutes and 30 minutes of lifting followed by only 20 minutes of swiming. The pool was really cold (they just added water).

                          I have 2 more days of gym before I go on a business trip. So this month is slower than I had hoped. I will try to work out or were my pedometer on my trip. I may get a lot of walking in- not sure until I get there.

                          The water consumption has been good.

                            ITA! Whenever I vacuum or mop I put my ipod on and "dance clean" LOL!

                            My October goals are this...

                            1. Drink 96oz of water everyday.
                            2. Get on my treadmill for a MINIMUM of 30 minutes, at least 4 times a week.
                            3. Weigh myself only ONCE a week, not everyday, twice a day! LOL!
                            4. Be positive!

                              -get down to 155 by 10/31
                              -get in more cardio per week..at 3-4 x's /wk now but wan to get to 4-5 x's wk
