I just spent time with one of my students who was beating himself up over not being able to do something perfectly the first time I taught it to him. We worked on some self-talk to do when he starts to feel frustrated.
And that's when it hit me: I'm REALLY good at encouraging others and recognizing their successes, but I'm less good (not awful, but not nearly as good) at doing the same for my own self. And since I am the only person who is with me 24/7, I should practice a bit.
So this thread is for anyone and everyone to practice affirmations or say positive things about his/her personal journey.
Today, I have the following to report to myself:
1. I have almost lost 1/3 of the weight I need to lose to reach goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. OHMYGOD I'm a RUNNER!
3. I've done an absolutely awesome job in the last month (start of school) with meal-planning.
4. I look and feel a helluva lot better than I did 2 months ago.
