  • Help with Exercising!!

    Hey everyone! i 've been on atkins for 2 weeks almost..(saturday) I just tried exercising today..and It gives me out! I know I'm out of shape...but does anyone just feel really weak when doing low carb and trying to exercise?
    I have always been like this when I get on Low carb...but I love how low carb is and how it prevents me from being sleepy during the day and so forth...but the exercise part kills me!
    I can do this!! I just have to stick my mind to it! I am the only one that can fix me!!

    Start small & build up. Walk for 15 minutes & build up your time. Get some exercise DVD' & start there. Exercise is my biggest issue but I know I just have to do it. I know from past experience that I will reach a point that I will enjoy & look forward to my exercise time.

      Yep.

      low-carbing makes even the best trained athlete have to reduce the weights at the gym for awhile. Many runners and walkers report that when they switch to low-carb, they don't have the same speed or stamina.

      Luckily, it's not for long. Give it a few weeks. You'll quickly build stamina and strength.

      Definately start slow and small. Be reasonable about your goals, and you'll do fine!

      By the way, I started on July 29. I started the couch to 5k program around August 6, unable to run more than 30 seconds at a time. I now run 4 miles at a pop, three times a week.

        what kind of exercise are you trying to do? What level of intensity??? If you were a regular exerciser, your body is still probably very use to the very immediate fuel that carbs provide....
        Keep working it slow and careful, and shortly your body will use your fat for fuel...
