  • Sunday Roll Call 10/7/07

    Good Morning Everyone,

    I thought I would do a quick roll call. This has been one busy weekend...I leave at 9ish in the mornings and don't return until 9ish at nights.

    Weekends are hard because I am gone so much and its hard to pack enough leftovers.. Today after church we usually eat at a local restaurant..well last week I got a Chef Salad and a double cheeseburger.. I told them to just slap it on my plate with no bread.. You should have seen the Chef Salad..IT WAS HUGE! I had them get me a box before I even started and I ate it for dinner..

    Tonight at Youth we are fixing a Nacho bar for the kids.. No reason I can't have everything there besides the chips..and I will eat it with my leftover salad..

    Good Sunday Morning!

    Sandy..it is wonderful you are so involved in your church..and in the Youth program..which I find extremely important!...Sounds like you have your food choices in order for the day...Way to go!

    Gonna get my walk in this morning...get ready for church..I sure hope Steph and the kids can make it today..Sunday..bless her heart is her only day off..she works at least 48 hrs a week..most of the time More! and has 3 little ones 6 and under..But she also realizes how important church and youth for the children are...It's just tough on her I know!

    Feeling good about my Progress...slow losses..but losses...My daughters have been making fun of my Baggy Jeans...Gonna dig around today...in my hope chest and my closets and try and find a smaller size...Yipee!

      Thanks Lisa.. Its hard to go on Sunday's sometimes...I just want to chill around the house..But Sunday's are one of the days my daughter gets to see her boyfriend..so out of the kindness of my heart we go...lol Once I get to church of course I am refreshed and feeling better..

      Just got done baking cupcakes for Youth and it didn't bother me.. Mainly cause they are the funfetti ones..and I wanted to bake the Butter ones but you KNOW that would have been calling me

        Why does Sunday get here so quickly?? My plan is to rest today as my lower back is bothering me. I don't want it to get worse!
        I'm going to cook some breakfast quiche for the week...DH loves it too. Also going to try the tuna muffins I've read so much about. Also going to work on my grandson's train quilt.

          Good morning...

          Sandy, I agree with Lisa Church is a must for the kids. I take all mine Sunday, Sunday evening and WED...and they actually love to go and sometimes have to beg me to take them, cuz i get too busy....shame on me. I haven't done that in awhile though. I know how you feel about wanting to veg at home instead of getting up and getting everyone ready, but i'm like you, once i get there, i'm glad i went.

          Lisa, good for you for working out early. I Steph you daughter? I have lost so much info around here lately from not being here.

          Gmitroff, hope you back is feeling better.

            Good morning everyone! I really enjoy reading everyone's posts.

            We are taking my uncle over to my brother's today. My uncle just moved back up here from Florida (he was there for 42 years) about a week ago and is in a nursing home very close to my parents and I. He is 86 and has Parkinson's, so isn't in great shape, but seems to be adjusting VERY well. It'll be interesting to see how long he'll want to stay. He's been a bachelor all of his life and he does like being around people, but not too much! My dh and I are going to drive Uncle, Mom and Dad, as it just makes it easier on my parents.

            Still no cheats...go me! I'm down 4.5 pounds for this first week, so I'm VERY happy. I also have to keep it in my head that it won't be this fast forever, so don't get discouraged. To reach my goal, I only need to lose a little over a pound a week until 4/1. So I may be whining about stalls or slow losses; REMIND ME about the importance of being true to this wol/woe and how awful I'll feel (physically and emotionally) if I let myself slip. Right now, I'm feeling GOOD.

            Good thoughts to everyone on this beautiful Sunday.

                Morning STACers. I'm TIRED this morning. Last night we had frie ds over for dinner and I overdid the nuts. I also bought these flax chips and overdid those with picante sauce. It's amazing how much can go in your mouth when you get distracted.

                Then, to cap the evening, DH bought canned soda. Without looking I drank a diet and only when my guest said something about whether or not the soda was diet because it tasted so good did I look at the ingredients....... Aspartime.

                Ugh. Sooooo the scale was not kind this morning.

                I plan to up the water and I've already gotten a half hour of exercise under my belt.

                Boy do I need a nap though--lol.

                    going to church this am too... don't have time for both exersize and church as I have to leave for work at 12... long work weekend! can't wait for tomorrow so I can be off and back to my real life!
                    My husband bought me a membership at his gym yesterday!!!!! very excited as I'm bored to tears with slim n 6!

                      Hi all, Back again. Holiday's are coming up and I know that if I don't get back on track now than I will be 235 again in no time. Time to put away the excuses and make time for me. I am my own worst enemy. Pray for me.

                        Good Morning, yummy love hard boiled eggs for breakfast. I defrosted some chicken breasts for dinner, going to look for a chicken cheese broccoli thing, just sounds good today. Wish fall would roll around am ready for some cool weather. The scale says I am back on track and am feeling pretty good about not eating sugar. Going to make 2 kinds of pumpkin pie this year, one for my son, who loves the traditional and one for me. I love Thanksgiving.

                          Good morning.

                          Before we went to the mall yesterday, our doorbell rang. It was a guy handing out flyers for a church. I explained who we are and he told us we are going to perish. Then he argued with me as I tried to shut the door. I wasn't interested in arguing, but he kept yelling at me thru the door. Nice.

                          We had a blast yesterday, my dds and I. And this morning I woke up early with dh, who had to work early,then went back to bed with coffee and a book, and ended up snoozing until about 9. SO yummy, to lie in bed all snuggled up in a blanket now that it's chilly outside, and just nest!

                          I went grocery shopping yesterday, so today is all about cooking for the week. Also cleaning our bedroom. SOMEONE (I think it's Meena Beena, sneaking in while I'm at work) keeps leaving clothing all over the floor, and dishes by MY side of the bed! (STOP THAT, Meena!) It's very irritating. Makes ME look like a slob, when everyone knows I'm not...............<ducking>

                          I'm down 2 lbs since Thursday, which is lovely. 207. Mini goal is 205, and I'll get there soon.

                          I have a crick in my hip this morning, so I didn't run. I think I would prefer to do the elliptical machine at the gym, which has less impact, with this weird pain. Hopefully a spell in the jacuzzi afterwards will get it all taken care of.........

                            Happy sunday everybody....all sounds well around here. I just got in from my second triathlon...Much tougher race, and i worked harder at it....I am in love! I had a blast. Pictures later probably in my journal...

                              Hey All,

                              My first time to Sunday roll call. Lingering on ADBB when I should be working on my Oracle Lab homework. It's grey and rainy out, husband is doing the biweekly Costco run, and darling daughter is having the time of her life on the giant bean bag in the playroom. Gotta tell y'all, long homework assignments can be a brutal test of diet willpower. They take forever, and you are basically stuck, bored, in front of a computer looking for any (ANY) excuse to procrastinate. Nibbling on the potroast downstairs much more than I actually should. Argh!!

                              Anyway, happy Sunday everyone. Wanna get the word out to folks whose weight loss is slowing down that a Slow Losers Challenge is in the works. Details to follow soon.
