  • Need food ideas Back again and need advise.

    Ok, I did this WOE back before the baby and it was so great. Lost 60 lbs. Well since he was born. I have fell off over and over. I have tried to figure out why. My tastebuds have changed. I can't tolerate salads but maybe 1 time per week. I gag!!!!. I don't know why. I loved them before. So, is there a thread anywhere that gives what some of you are eating on a day to day basis? Maybe we can do the WFD, WFL, WFB post or something. I have 3 boys and a husband that don't eat low carb. They have very high metabolisms and my hubby loses very easily and is already underweight. So I have to cook both. I had the willpower before and have to do it again. My health is suffering. So, please direct me ok. I have read the book and am reading it again!! I know the key points. I just need some food ideas. Breakfast is my enemy. I hate eggs. I can't stand them. I can tolerate bacon once in a while. Well, off to church. Thanks in advance

    Good Morning Nichole! if you dont want to eat Salads... how bout eating the 'other veggies' that go into your Salads? and how bout Greens? do you like them? and Spinach? those are 'good' veggies... and I think they are much better for you than just Salad... and as far as Breakfast Ideas! i want to hear those who pop in with advice on that, because i am not to happy eating Eggs either... i usually have leftovers from the night before for Breakfast... Have Yourself a Very Blessed Day!

      Hi, thanks for replying. I actually do love brocolli, caulliflower and green beans. I love spinach in a salad..but right now can't stomach cold salad..BUT I did find some brocolli slaw @ the grocery store yesterday and took so mayo, splenda, and vinegar and mixed it up and it is so good. Low carb and kinda kills the sweet tooth too. I do eat left overs from dinner for breakfast a lot. I guess I will be doing that until I can find something that is traditionally breakfast. I just can't stand eggs. I already feel the carb fog lifting since yesterday. It's crazy how all that stuff affects me like a drug.

      So anyway I hope to hear some more ideas. I guess there isn't a thread that is posted daily here about what ppl are eating huh?
      Direct me somebody please if there is.

        I don't think these are induction foods but I bought the Atkins Pancake mix and ate them after induction. They are pretty good with sugar free syrip. I even added a handful of blueberries to mine. There are several other brands of low carb pancake mixes available. Check in the healthfood store. There are also low carb dried cereals available. You get used to the taste of them after a while.

          you might want to post something up in the Main Atkins Diet Forum Nichole... thats the 3rd box down from the top... everyone looks there right away, and you might get quicker advice... and remember to READ, READ, READ... cause there are lots of posts here for people asking about what to eat for Breakfast! seems as tho all of us get sick of Eggs... Ha Ha!!!

            You need to go to Linda's website..there are a TON of recipes on there..and many that my family will eat.. In the Second Time around thread there is a Zippy's Recipe thread that has some yummy things on it..

            I NEVER eat salads at home.. I eat other veggies.. When I am out and need something is when I eat salads...

              Hit your local library. They have so many low carb cookbooks to keep you happy for months.

                Here are a few items I've been eating, and yes, you would need to measure them so make sure you aren't overdoing it but most of things are ok since I'm on induction at this time:

                fried cabbage
                broccoli or cauliflower with tilapia filets
                turkey burgers with green beans
                turkey hot dogs with faux mashed potatoes (cauliflower)
                I make up omelettes sometimes for dinner, spanish is really good with a little salsa and cheese and doesn't feel like you are eating eggs!
                tuna salad - chicken salad - add in your greens like celery, little onion or green peppers - add to a bed of lettuce

                Linda's website - great ideas for family meals! Casseroles are so easy and induction friendly!

                  Well mock danishes have eggs in them but taste like a danish...dunno if that would work for you for breakfast
