Other people have mentioned getting burgers without the bun when they go out to eat at places like McDonalds. Just wondering how reliable this is. I'm pretty sure the cheese they use on the burgers would be Atkins-friendly, but what about the burger patties? Do they have other hidden ingredients in them? Also, are any sauces on the burgers allowed?

Any info much appreciated because I would love to know that I could grab a bite to eat when I'm out every now and then.

    Cheers

This is a nutritional list of the carb counts in foods at the major fast food establishments. I have used this to make my choices on what foods to eat many times.

McDonalds burgers have fillers in them, and I think the 'cheese' they use is actually a 'cheese product', something like a Kraft single which really has nothing to do with dairy. Plus McDonalds and other fast food places tend to put sugar in everything..its keeps us coming back. Fast food is okay in a pinch when there are no other options, but IMHO I think it is best to just avoid it altogether.

Carls Jr has a lc $6 burger that is made with 100% angus beef (so it is lean).

Alot of places use soy or vegetable protein as fillers and then they have some preservatives to buy shelf life... Ugg

But when I am in a pinch I eat the Carls Jr Low Carb $6 Burger. It is a little dry, but it is like getting a salad and some beef in one meal. It is huge and I can never eat the whole thing. I ask them to hold the fake cheese and the ketchup and then I enjoy it. I have also used the breakfast burritos and asked that they hold the tortilla- they look at me funny but do as I ask. I just eat it with a fork

I do eat out more than I would like to, but with my life style it has to work. I try to make the best choices that I can. I ask the wait staff many questions. I explain to them that I have FOOD ALLERGIES and list the items that I can not eat and they help me.
            Good Luck,

I was looking for that website the other day but couldn't find it.
The McDonald's one, where you can add and subtract everything.

Can anyone remember the site address?

I've looked up burger ingredients for McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Bugerville. They all list their burger patties as 100% beef.

I could find nothing else on any of their menus that didn't have something bad, that incudes eggs and even grilled chicken, but the burgers are OK in a pinch.

Because of my busy lifestyle.. I eat fast food burgers and have had no problems with them. I try to eat at home as often as I can..but sometimes I don't have a choice..

                      Re: eating out

I asked at Mc donalds and they told me their burgers are 100% beef and have no fillers ......... the cheese has 1 carb per slice. What I do is order 2 double cheeseburgers no bun and cheese and onions only ........ I count it as 5 carbs because assuming the little bit of onions they give you has some ........The serve it in a nice plastic container on a lettuce leaf and if you ask nicely for extra lettuce they will throw a few under the burger and you have a nice burger wrap if you want it. With a family my size and on the run like we are I needed to be able to eat there and with this selection I can.

The bacon RAnch grilled chicken salad has quite a few carbs and sugars so even though it sounds legal avoid it!
