  • This Is Why I Want To Lose Weight

    I want to lose weight because:
    • I want to be healthier
    • I want to be self confident
    • I want to wear cute clothes, not plus size clothes
    • I want to shop for clothes off the rack like everyone else
    • I want to chase my kids around and play with them
    • I want to get professional family pictures taken w/kids
    • I want to be the first in line for a photo rather than run from them
    • I want to feel attractive again
    • I want to start dating again and hoepfully find "THE ONE"
    • I want to be a happier person
    • I want to be more active, hiking and other family things
    • I don't want to notice that I am the fattest person in a room
    • I want to feel comfortable in my clothes and with my body
    • I want to have skinny lovin someday again (akward when overweight)
    • I want to accomplish my goal and prove I can do this
    • I want my family and children to be proud of me, more importantly I want to be proud of myself
    • I want to enjoy looking at myself in the mirror
    I have to lose weight because:
    • I have high blood pressure & want to get off med
    • I have sleep appnea & want to live through the night
    • I have anxiety and some depression & want to get off med
    • I cannot make it up a flight of stairs with huffing & puffing and I want to be able to clim the stairs or run the stairs without stopping to breathe
    • I am a single parent and have two children who depend on me
    • I have chest pains at times that scare me
    • I want to live to see my kids have kids and be a grandma
    • I am at times a very sad person and don't want to feel that way
    Losing weight is not just a choice for me anymore, it is a must for me. It is not just something I am trying to do, it is something I am fighting to do. It is not something that is easy but is &am hard.

    To accomplish my goal this is what I will do:
    • I will have a clean, extended and cheat free induction
    • I will exercise at least 30 minutes a day even when I have to push myself
    • I will be sure to drink the amount of water my body needs
    • I will plan my meals out for the week
    • I will baggie up snacks when on the go so I am not tempted to fast food it
    • I will wake up each day with excitement, happiness and determination
    • I will write in my journal
    • I will not let the scale determine my success or my attitude
    • I will not let family, friends or anyone else push me to eat what I shouldn't
    • I will explain my Atkins WOE to everyone around me so they understand how important it is to me and to support me
    • When I feel like I need support/encouragement I will come here

      Angela - great post! I think it helps to understand why we need to be healthier and have those goals and reasons why in front of us!

        I wrote it out on a huge piece of white paper. I have it posted and I read it everyday. It encourages me everyday. When I am struggling, all I have to do is go and read it. Especially the reasons why I have to... I suggest others to do something similiar. It has really helped me.

          Gonna need 1 rest day a week from exercise to give your body time to restore itself...I promise it's the hardest thing to do, because you want to help your diet so much, but your body will be thankful and make more progress after you have rested...

          Your list is highly motivational...use that as leverage in your life...I can relate to all of the things on the list.... I am so proud of all your growth, just stick to it today....way to go girl....way to go

                This is an amazing post that touches so many of the reasons I want to lose also! It's so inspiring and putting down determination on paper will help remind me why to stay on track, even when it's hard.
