Going down the Atkins road...thanks to
I gave a little intro about myself on the introductions thread but since this is my second, third, 4th go around after 5 years abandoning Atkins, I figure this is the club for me! The STAC! I'm 30ish, apple shaped, history of family type II diabetes and heart disease and a fat actress in LA hoping to change that! I think this time around it will be a lot easier. Low carbing in general is more acceptable now. People are realizing that Atkins is not a fad diet. And more restaurants are having substitues for the carbs. When I first was on Atkins and you'd ask for extra green beans instead of the baked potato, people would look at you like you were nuts! I'm just so damn glad I found this board...and my way back down the Atkins road! I'll be here a lot posting and such so I hope y'all don't get sick of me!
So I went to the bookstore with my friend just to browse, kinda broke until payday but I like to browse. Then on the bargain table I find this: The Atkins For Life Kit, for only 2.00! It's GREAT! It comes in a little box, like one of those recipe boxes and it holds 100 recipe cards for Induction, OWL, and Maintenance, 120 meal plan cards for whatever level you're on, a carb grab counter book, a daily carb/meal journal, a 60 min CD with Dr. A talking about staying motivated on the plan and a wallet size dining out companion booklet! It's great and it was just sitting there by itself for only TWO BUCKS! It was like meant for me to pick it up! Has anyone every seen this or used it?
