  • Thank Goodness for Target

Yesterday headed to Walmart and couldn't find ANYTHING I was looking for! Frustrated we did our Costco run and came home.

Today - I decided we needed a few sodas to sell this weekend at our farm tour event and browsed for a little bit while we were there.

Well - not only did they have the water bottle style I wanted (I like a straw - the other type I always seem to spill!), they are still carrying some of the low carb type items like a yogurt!!

Small container - but 3 carbs per serving I will take in a heart beat.

Still didn't have my baking stuff - but I didn't look hard for that since I went ahead and ordered the stuff yesterday online.

The water bottle was the big thing for me. I wanted 32 oz - but I'll settle for 24oz. And apparently it can be used for hot and cold stuff! I've been going through so many pre-packaged water bottles from the store it's just so much easier to keep this thing with me at all times instead. I tried refilling the store pkgd bottled water - but it doesn't last long and I can't add ice so it's never cold enough for me.

    YEA TARGET!!

Target is dangerous for me. I walk in to get hairpins, and I walk out with a dress, a purse, sunglasses, a necklace, shoes, a toy for my nephew, a CD for my husband, a new table runner, drinking glasses, bedsheets and a new mirror to hang on the wall. Keep me out of that place!

We don't have Traget here yet, but when I lived in Eugene it was one of my favorite places to shop. I will see if I can visit one in Portland tomorrow or Thursday.

Target is set to open in the Summer of 2008... I am so excited

              I LOVE Target, too!

I've heard so many people say that they love the clothes there... I've never found a single piece of clothing that I've liked. Maybe I need to look closer next time.

I do love everything else, though! Nice and clean... good variety of produce... carries things that Walmart doesn't. Yay, Target!

                Re: Thank Goodness for Target

I got my water bottle from Target--a 32 oz one with a straw. Mine has a green top. You'll laugh if I tell you I was looking for the directions on how the thing worked because I couldn't get the suction to get any water out! I finally figured out you had to snap the mouth thingy all the way over--lol. That took me ten minutes to get and my 4 year old was actually the one who finally figured it out----

I like Target just because they are always less crowded than Wal Mart (a sanity saver when shopping with all 4 kids) and their prices are practically the same--sometimes even better, like with diapers.

If I can avoid Wal Mart I take the extra 5 minutes to go to Target.

You will all laugh at this but I went to a Target for the 1st time 2 years ago when I went to TX.

I literally have to leave the state to go to Target! Not one single store in the state! Closest one is 1.5 hours away. Pathetic isn't it!

Oh I am so dangerous with Target also - which is why I avoid it at all time. I shop for my daughter's clothes there - they are so cute without a huge price tag which is great since she grows so quickly.

But I am happy with the water bottle! I kept it filled yesterday and drank about 4 of them (I lost count after 3 times filling it up) so 24 X 4 = 96 oz yesterday!! Of course - I still had cotton mouth which I must say is the worst I have ever had it and it comes right back after drinking anything.

                        Re: Thank Goodness for Target

I was in there yesterday looking for winter clothes for my daughter and I couldn't find anything. She is way too big around her middle for her own good and even though she is only 4, her middle is a size 8--which in pants are way too long for her of course.

I have no idea what I'm going to do when it gets too cold for shorts. Anyone encounter this problem before?

My oldest has a similar problem. Her legs and belly were not at the same size. I found lycra leggings worked great until she got synched up again.

I found those in Target yesterday but they had some funky pattern/design all over them. I just wish that I could find her a nice pair of jeans! I guess I could but her a pair that fits the waist and have them altered.

Ugh, I wish there was an Atkins for children!! lol.
