  • Something to think about..

    You know sometimes I get frustrated when the scales don't move or I am struggling..but I am down 37lbs since April which is WAY better then be up those 37 lbs..at one time I was pushing to hit 300lbs..now I am pushing to get below that 250.. It won't be long

    But anyway The outfit I have on in my first picture I wore to church on Sunday...So yesterday when I wore it to church its hanging off of me.. But I LOVE those pants..but soon I won't be able to wear them... a friend at church said OH my gosh you are doing great....I can really see it (Bless her..since my family sees NOTHING..grrr) In away I was so happy about those pants..Yesterday I went to the bathroom without unzipping those pants.. They zip on the side and I just pulled them on and off..hahaha..

    Now...my 3rd picture with the Jean capris... I WORE them this weekend... OUT.. That has been one of my goals.. When I first started I couldn't even get them over my thighs.. They are still a tad bit tight on my butt...But I wore them.. Not use to jeans..haven't worn them in probably 15years..

    I look so forward to watching those capris get loose on me.. I just gotta remember this when I am feeling discouraged..

    Great point! I love it when you can take trousers off without undoing them. Belts suddenly become important

              Sandy you have it so right. When I get down thinking about the weight that is not coming off, I think about the weight that has already come off. I first began my atkins adventure in March of this year and lost 30 pounds by May. Then I got loose with the plan and pretty soon it was out the window and I gain 15lbs back. I restarted 10/8/07 and have lost 11 of those 15lbs. I am almost back to where I left off and it feels great. I regret not sticking with it before but I don't let it get me down. I think hey I am still down 20+ pounds and if someone said hey Starr would you like to be 20 pounds lighter 7 months from now I would say HECK YEAH! So that is what keeps me going. When I think about throwing in the towel I think about where I could be 1 month, 2 months, or even a year from now. I know I will be happier sticking to the program now than giving up and looking back again! You are doing great. I am not going to say "You didn't put on this weight overnight so you are not going to lose it overnight", because I hate that saying...it gives me no comfort and does not really put thing into prospective for me. So I will say this....Good things come to those who wait...and I will take a quote I saw on another members siggy. The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!!

                    LOL...well when those pants start falling down I will have to quit wearing them cause they don't have belt loops.. I will say my capri pants that I wear a belt with I started at the first holes and now I have to hook them in the 3rd

                        Sandy, I printed this post of yours out and am putting it on my bathroom mirror. It is the perfect, articulate real-life example of that lesson we all repeat to each other, but rarely internalize ourselves: It's not the scale. It's the inches.

                            Thanks Party...But you gotta remember I am like 100lbs over you..so I will lose quicker.. I would LOVE to be 18lbs from goal...and its going to happen. You have lost 55 and that is alot! I keep telling myself.. WOW you have lost almost 40lbs! By Summer I would LOVE to be under 200... That would be so awesome. We can do this..
