    Re: Venting.....

Boy do I sure remember being in your shoes. My husband was career navy and we moved all over the US. We were always so far away from family and it was hard to make many friends moving all the time. I had to me mother father and every thing else in between. I sure can understand how stressed out and over whelmed you feel. I agree with everyone else is there any way you could find some one to help with the kids an hour or two a day? Your yoga dvd is a great idea maybe you could use if after the kids are in bed for the night and try to wind down after such a stressful day. One thing I used to do that helped me a lot is I made a list of what I could do to help when my stress was getting through the roof. Then when I had a day like your going through now and could barely think stright I could look through it and pick out what might help. I had some things that would seemed really silly to someone else like sit down and pet my cat for 5 minutes. Or take the kids for a walk around the block. some times all it takes is that one little thing that gives you a break long enough to get your stress down far enough to feel sane again.

      Re: Venting.....

Well, I cried a good long cry last night and had a pity party then passed out from sheer exhaustion.

I woke up this morning determined to get into some sort of bizarre routine. I have no choice but to answer the phones--so I'll handle that. I'm going to use school to my advantage and try to get things done while the two older boys are there. The leech baby--lol--is contented to play by herself for about an hour after she wakes up in the morning. That's "ME" time. I'm getting in my yoga and the other exercises for my other challenges.

After that, I'll deal with whatever comes as it comes flying at me. I have a neighbor here that could take the boys for about an hour or two over the weekend so that I can get some down time--that might help too.

Thanks so much for all of your support and help. You guys were a sanity saver last night--lol.

Hugs Meena. Everyone has such good advice, there's not much I could add. Dig deep and draw up all the strength you have. Is your hubby deployed for the next two months?

I can't tell you how much you need your own time! My husband and I both are here a lot - but with both kids here with us all the time it can get a little hectic - especially with school stuff +farm stuff that needs to get done.

Some nights - I just sit in a bath forever! We also now "pay" my 8 year old to watch our friend's kid while the guys have "guy time" - so maybe "hire" your older kids to watch the younger kid for awhile - and that means FULL entertainment!

SInce I have always worked from home - I also would assemble a really cheap $1 store type bag or box that was ONLY brought out when I was working. It helped a lot with keeping some of my sanity

As far as food - you can make it work!! Just make extras and save it for lunch tomorrow. I'm so into that right now (as I sit and am eating lunch) I hate making lunch - but don't mind making dinner.

          YOU CAN DO IT

Hey, Meena - how are you doing today?

I read about last night's meltdown, which was probably exactly what you needed to do. Also about the possibility of getting a neighbor to sit the kids sometime this weekend - MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

Some gyms actually provide childcare, and so if you were to get, say, a limited, 2-month membership (trial period or something) you could take the non-schooled kids and leave them in the daycare while you work out, which would a) give you a break and b) make sure you release some of that stress.

            Other options:

            1. Design a rocket that will propell your kids into outer space for an hour at a time. Call it a "field trip" and announce that it's part of your "homeschooling" and nobody will even blink.

            2. Learn to be a hypnotist and hypnotise your kids into thinking that they are salamanders. Tell them the sun is shining and they need to sleep. For 5 hours.

            3. Learn to be a hypnotist and hypnotise yourself to interpret squabbling and a ringing phone to be the soft sound of waves lapping against a golden beach.

            4. Run away to Tahiti to become an artist. Specialize in portraits of native women who need to be on Atkins.
