November's Stac Yoga Club Challenge!

  • November's Stac Yoga Club Challenge!

    Ok, here's what you do:

    1. Obtain a yoga video, sign up for a class, or find a good one on tv.

    2. Decide how many days each week or this month you will commit to.

    3. Post it. (example: 12/30, or 3/7)

    4. Post every time you do it, and record what day you are on (ex: 7/12 or 3/7)

    5. When you post, add a little blurb about how it feels, whether you are noticing any changes in your strength, stamina, balance, stretchyness)

    Meena has a really cool Yoga thingy to put on your signature, which I have lost, but hope she will repost - you can then cut and paste it!

        Me too, I'm already doing 4 times a week, so what I'm really aiming for is flexibility. When I was little I did gymnastics. I want to be able to touch my toes again lol. I wonder if I could in a month...that is such a happy thought

          I'm in too! I have been dying to find a workout that I love and I think this might be it. So put me in for at least 3 x a week!

                I'm in for 5 times a week. My yoga tape is designed to take it easy on people like me so I feel comfortable getting it in every morning. That'll add up to 20 days total for the month.

                Oh and the graphic for those that want to join the club is right here--you can copy/paste or save it to your computer and then upload it to your own graphics hosting site.

                  I am in for three times a week. It will depend on how my back responds to the stretching. I had to quit the last time because of the pain in my hips and back. I will just avoid those exersizes that stress those areas.

                    I actually started last night; ran through the DVD to see if I could figure it all out. It's definitely going to be challenging, but I'M UP FOR IT. Thanks for starting the challenge.

                        I'm gonna have to drop from 4 to 3x times a week. I want to make sure I don't slack off on my strength training.

                        Anyone else notice a position or two that make you feel light headed? (And I don't mean the ones where your head is upside down lol)

                          I got my first 30 minute session in yesterday. The poses weren't all that difficult to hold actually. I think it's because of all the squats and ab work I've been doing the past couple of months. My favorite pose so far has been the corpse pose--it sounds morbid but it's SO relaxing.

                            I was finally able to do it yesterday, and boy, was I stiff! Yikes! It's like starting all over, which is actually good, because then I can track during this month my actual improvement instead of having started before November 1 and not knowing how my body is changing.

                            Anyway, it was relaxing and fun. And I have a lot of improvement to make! lol.

                              I get lightheaded when I hold my breath--which is easy to do when you are trying to hold some of those poses.
