    Good morning STAC, well I am up before noon, I guess jet lag is finally leaving me. My family and I are off on our bikes the cool morning in the south. Gonna workout together. Trying to get back into the swing of routine.

    I learned alot while I was away and stuck eating foods from another nation. For various reasons I ended up eating high carb foods and sugars got in the mix and my energy fell to the pits. Digestion problems and lack of energy robbed me of vitality. One day I had a great revelation, "my body thrives on Atkins and low carb"....thrives. I have energy, I lack cravings, I motor on with ease...I don't want all the stuff I use to live for.
    When I hit the states and came home, I have spent the last 3 days just eating my normal way. Bacon and eggs, chicken salad, fresh veggies, meats. I am so glad to be back to uncomplicated foods that my body thrives on....it's my body returning to normal...That has set me free from ever thinking that there is the place "one day I'll get to eat in again"....that has been destroyed. My body doesn't thrive with that place.

    Thanks for sharing Jess! It sounds as if your trip was pivotal in many aspects of your life. Freedom is what I'm striving for!!

    My plan for today is to get to the gym, do some house chores, go to a new fabric store that just opened only 10" from my house & do some quilting.

      Good morning everyone,

      I'm off to take my mom shopping today, which I'm looking forward to. When I get home, I'm going to pull all the annuals out of the garden. I'm afraid Fall is really here!

      Freedom indeed, Jess. That's what we're all here for and have to have the patience to 'get there'. It takes awhile to remove ourselves from the clutches of our old wol. But if we focus and persevere, we'll all be on the road to happiness and healthiness.

        You know jess its the same for me my body thrives on atkins. Not only does it keep my weight stable but my moods to. I sleep better and even my skin and hair looks better. The last two days have been stressful with doctors apps but I feel good about the game plan I now have in place. My new doctor does not look very favorably on atkins and he even agreed I should stay on it. Well I was up by 4 am so I my workout finished for the day. I think I am going to try to lay back down for an hour or so though because I have the grand kids all afternoon and evening. I just found out my oldest daughter is pregnate this is going to be our 12th grand child. Well what theheck 12 is a nice round number lol.

            Morning, Jess and everyone!

            Right on, Jess. I've had to deal with the wildfires and the remaining smoke, and am taking 4 graduate level classes in addition to teaching full time. I've been stuck at a certain weight area for 3 weeks. Halloween was the other day. A recipe for deviating from this WOE if I ever heard one.

            And yet, I have not cheated, not once. Why? Two reasons: First, I ALWAYS remember, and it's a physical memory, how I feel when I eat bad carbs. And second, what I crave these days are veggies and eggs. They are my new comfort food - plus soy flour pancakes.

            These are what my body and my mind need to function clearly and in a healthy way. I have no acid reflux, no headaches, and my lethargy is due to smoke inhalation, not sugar. I have no bloating, no swelling, and no aches.

            This morning I have a four hour class, then I am going to take my dd to lunch, as she will have finished taking the SATs by then. Then, some schoolwork, and more rest. I will go to the gym tonight for the first time since the fires - have dr.'s permission! woo hoo!

            It will be a full, and good day.

              Sounds like you live in california....i felt those Santa Ana winds the day the fires started in malibu, we left for australia that night, but on the coast that day, many the wind whipped up, big time....of course things spiraled out of control right after we left....out there in that neck of the country!

                lcangel, congrats on your daughter being pregnant!

                jess, i could not agree with you more. when i very first dabbled in atkins, upwards of 5 years ago, i could not imagine how people said 'this is a way of life, not just a diet you get on and get off'....that seemed impossible and ridiculous for me. however, the past 5 months of being very strict have showed me IT"S NO BIG DEAL and I FEEL BETTER about myself, my body, my energy, my exercise. i agree with you. this simple and healthy way of eating is going to be my way for life. NOT induction, but lifetime maintenance. how lucky we are!

                  I agree too! I feel so much better on the atkins Woe/Wol... Those bad carbs are poison. Yesterday at my conference I was tempted at every meal and snack but didn't cave in to the bagels, chocolate chip cookies or tortillas at lunch! Yeah!!!! I kept telling myself that they would just make me sick.
                  It's a gorgeous day out here finally. Am going to go walk my dog for the first time in 3 weeks (london, fires) The air quality seems okay today, and I just can't take it anymore! Give me some sun!

                    enjoy that bike ride PT, I fell off mine this morning, thankfully I had on bike pants, and only took a few layers of knee off my knee....but I am sure stiff! only me!

                      My mom came and borrowed my girls to go shopping, so I have the house to myself. All mine! I took a little nap after cleaning and getting some foods together for this next week. I'm trying to get back to my deligence of planning ahead and staying the course. I haven't done well with planning ahead with allowing the stresses of homework and stuff going on at the same time. Time to refocus and start feeling the release from the blahs....

                        Hello everyone.. I know my body feels better on Atkins..but darn it I have been cheating again.. Its like 1 bite and it goes down hill for days.. GRRR on a good note at Dance today..Our Director that we don't see often said.. Are you losing weight? I said Yes..37lbs Made me feel better.

                          Good evening everyone!

                          Just checking in real quick.. Had a long busy day .. and still trying to defrag from my horrendous work week.

                          Made it to the gym 3 times this week and going to do my one of my yoga tapes after I clear the dinner dishes (well my dishes - the rest of the family ordered in-Chinese-)

                            jess, bike ride dind't happen because i got a cactus needle stuck in my tire which flattened my tube. i now have a spare tube, and am learning how to change it myself.....
