  • Personal Question?

    Well I have a personal question for all of you ladies out there. How much weight do you gain during your TOM? Is it always the same? I am on my TOM and have shot up 3-4 pounds and I want to know if this is normal. I also don't want to gain non-TOM related weight and just brush it off as TOM weight. Just thought I'd ask!

      Mine varies between 1 and 7 lbs. And it all comes off by the end.

        If weight gain is something that's typical for you during TOM, then you're going to experience it now too. The difference is that now that you're on WOE you're probably watching that scale a *lot* closer and are more likely to notice the fluctuations.

        Me? I typically lose 1-3lbs and don't experience a gain, if any, until the day TOM leaves. If I do gain, it's usually 1-2lbs. - but I've always been like that. Go figure!

        General rule of thumb for success: If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it.

          I don't seem to gain - so far anyway - but for a week before and then during I don't lose anything at all. Then I lose faster than normal for a week or two, which evens it all out.

            Phase 1: menstrual- (1 - 6 days of cycle)

            I can gain anywhere from 1-6 lbs from TOM. Especially if I do a lot of processed/salty foods.

              I have always gained between 3-5 pounds the week before TOM then level out during and lose the week after .......... makes for quite the yoyo cycle it used to drive me nuts until I adopted the policy of keeping my lowest weight as my ticker weight and accepting the fluctuations as fluid weight and the lows as my real weight ........ I have Evermind to thank for that policy!

                      This was a good idea to ask ShiningStarr, I have TOM next week or two and I was wondering about this too! (My third week so I don't know yet)

                        Thanks for all your replies. It is very interesting seeing how different we all are. It is also nice knowing that you lose it when it is over! I like that idea about keeping the ticker weight your lowest and actual weight. Good idea!

                          I am going to use this way to calculate my weight.. I get all twitchy when I have to move it back up! LOL

                            This time I gained 6lbs.. I had a 4lb loss the day before... It usually takes me a few days after TOM to get the whole thing off...
