    Happy Tuesday everyone!

    Can you believe it's only a little over a week to Thanksgiving? I'm stunned. What's your plan for being Atkins compliant for the day that is almost solely dedicated to overeating? I'm lucky this year...my brother is also on Atkins and they are hosting, so I know there will be good options for me. I'm taking a relish tray (I hate doing it, but that's what they asked me to do!) so I can take lots of good veggies...that'll help. My mom will be making her killer pies, but I can resist that. But I am planning on being 100% compliant...how about you?

    Hey huggija, the most difficult part for me will be the desserts my mom always has, so I think I'll bring an Induction friendly cheesecake to satisfy the craving. Also, I love sweet potatoes and my mom makes the best! But I will settle for mock mashed potatoes instead. Does anyone have an atkins friendly recipe for mock sweet potatoes??

      Good Morning everyone ........... It feelslike Monday! We enjoyed the extra day this weekend as a family but I am also glad to get back on track with my "normal" schedule.

      Today is my first day with nothing to drink but water. Bob and I decided we were giving up soda all together so from here on out it's water water water. That has got to help with me getting enough in I hope! It will also get rid of my main source of splenda so I won't be going overboard on that anymore either. I filled 5 20 Oz bottles of water last night and they are on hand in the fridge so I am starting today to try and get all five in. They say it only takes 4 days to make or break a habit so I am working on being strong for four days and then water being my habit. I am also trying to get back to Twice a day excercise. Doing my Eliptical in the AM and then my challenges and core work in the evening .......... I have a plan .............. We'll see how it all goes! Holidays are times when it's easy to make excuses so I am trying to set my self up with a good plan that will carry me through!

        Yes Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I had a breif moment while I was looking at a Thanksgiving cookbook where I thought oh it would be so nice to have some of that on Thanksgiving. Then I slapped some sense into myself and put the book down and got over it quick. Now I am determind to have a cheat free Thanksgiving! I know I will be so proud of myself for doing it and the great feeling of feeling proud will definately beat the moment of yumminess and the days of induction flu I will have to deal with after. Plus I kinda like it when people tell me ....Geez Starr I dont know how you do it. I could never pass up all this stuff!" Little do they know it is the magical powers of ketosis..and planning!!

          Good Morning.. I finally started my day off right this morning...Ate like I am suppose too... Getting ready to leave in a few minutes for my water aerobics class. I love going..its my outlet..we laugh a lot in our class too...

          The only thing that is going to be really hard to resist is Sweet Potatoes for Thanksgiving.. I think I can skip the dessert. I do have a recipe for Mock Sweet potatoes using Pumpkin and may try that this week with something and see how it taste... The only time I ever eat Sweet potatoes is at the holidays.. But they are my favorites..

            Good morning everybody. Thanksgiving is a wonderful family time. I will be hauling a huge head of cauliflower up to the W Vir. mountains....and making this awesome faux potatoe deal my DD made for us last night, it's still in my mind.

            I have slept so hard, I am not so sure what day it is yet......

              I can't wait for Thanksgiving, 4 DAY WEEKEND!!

              I think I think too much. I've had bad dreams about eating stuff not Atkins.

              Took the morning off, body told me it was tired. I wanted to eat the table leg last night, but did very good and only ate induction friendly stuff. Only a little more than normal. I guess just knowing I could helped.

                i am also on board with the induction cheesecake. i never make it because i have trouble with portion control, and it is just me so i will eat the whole thing in 2 days if i am not feeling super disciplined.

                  For thanksgiving we have alot of appetizer type stuff for the football games. I thought I would take a middle of the road approach and try to find lower carb options since i'm in mantiance. I was thinking of putting out a platter with lil smokies in some lc bbq sauce, assorted cheeses, cut up veggies with ranch dressing. I don't drink often but I usally do on holidays so I thought about taking crystal light lemond aid and crystal light fruit punch mixing them toghter putting in some rum and floating some lemon and lime slices on top. Dinner I was planning on making ham some green beans and maybe a big salad. For dessert a lc pumpkin pie made with splenda and a pecan pie crust with real whipped cream . I figure that entire menu would set me back around 40 net carbs. Which if I'm careful with my carbs the rest of the day fits right into my 50-60 net cabs a day I can have right now.

                    I'm excited for Thanksgiving because it will be the first time I work 40 hours a week and I will actually be able to rake some money in! I'll be able to stay compliant for the holiday because my mom and dad are doing this way of life, as well, and they have commited themselves to helping me out so I can be successful this time. I don't want to get discouraged again like I did last time. I know I do have to find some time to excercise, but it's hard with the busy schedule that I do have. One benifit I do have this time around is that I no longer drink soda. It's been a month and a week since I have done the evil deed of drinking carbonation. Blah on CO2. Only CO2 I will have in my body is the one I need in order to survive. =)

                    Tonight will be really hard. I have a cooking class and we are sharing recipes from all around the world and ahhhh, -.- It's going to be way evil, but I am sure I can just cook my meal and then sneak out before I get tempted to eat anything. =P

                      I lost a pound!! WOO HOO!!! I'm almost ready to go to this event today..... and the kids say my cookies are awesome so I'll rely on their judgement - LOL.

                        Awesome Chica!

                        Good Morning STAC'ers. I didn't weigh today and I doubt I will weigh for a few days. I am still retaining some water.

                        I had a good day yesterday. I wogged (almost jogging) on the TM and strenght trained and I did swim a little. However there wasn't much swiming in me after doing my legs. But it felt good-like it always does.

                        I made a couple new vegi dishes that I got off the side dish forum. I make Mockaroni & Cheese (was very good) and Baked Cabbage (not so good). I will try another one today.

                        Today will be another good day- water drinking, exercizing, some work work, and fun cooking! Plus I am going tanning (I need it for good mental health in the winter).

                          Good day everyone. It sounds like everyone is getting their Thanksgiving meals together. Turkey, ham, vegetables, a big salad... that's my plan.

                          Sandy, I love the sweet potatoes too.. they're my favorites. I'm looking this year for a new favorite...some other vegetable that's delicious. Anyone have any good vegetable ideas/recipes?

                              Good Morning!
                              I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving at our house this year. Am planning some special treats for myself ie. pumpkin cheesecake, almond greenbeans casserole, etc... I don't know if I'm in denial, but I'm not worried about cheating as there is so much yummy legal food I can have. Think I'll make that faux mashed potatoes too now that you mention it!
                              I posted a pic of my ds in my journal if anyone's interested. He has yet another broken bone now thanks to football! At the ortho apt yest for his broken finger, I had them look at his hip which has been hurting. Well, it's called an avulsion fracture which happens to athletes when they aren't STRETCHING enough and they're muscles can literally pull the muscle off the bone and take some bone with it! (so stretch! all you athletes!)
                              Focusing on counting my blessing this week and seeing the good in the challenges that come our way. Going to make a list of all that I'm thankful for.
