  • Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

ok so i'm doing atkins for the ummmmm....5th time truly! this time i will stick to it!!! i know how healthy i felt the first time i was on it, and i know for a fact carbs make me gain weight!!! i AM a carb/sugar addict!!!!! one taste and i'm done!! ok so anyway.......i'm meeting with much resistance in my household!! If i have to hear that my "diet" is boring one more time i'm going to loose it, or that i have no energy (only happens once in a while) "because i need to replenish my carbs", and "the body NEEDS 5 things to make it run effectively"........i'm going to strangle someone!!!!! even explaining the science behind it does not work!!!! her own father was actually on it and did well, and is going back on it this week. it's hard to stick to it in the first few weeks anyway, but having someone continuously question and comment about everything you put in your mouth is maddening!!!!!!!!! if she were trying anything new i would give her my full support....... oy......

Just say, Mmhmm. Interesting....or something like that to satisfy her nagging and keep eating on plan. When the weight starts coming off, she'll realize that it really works.
It's difficult to deal with people like that, but keep at it

Thank You!!! I enjoy a good challenge , so i figure the more resistance she throws up the harder i will work to lose the weight, and when i'm at my goal i will say "yeah you're right this 'diet' doesn't work!" lol! xxxooo, Niko

Getting Atkins up and rolling in your life is ONE TOUGH THING...Usually we are in such pain and desperate that we are willing to pay that price because over here in STAC we know the results will come, but we have to pay that darn price of working the program, and in your case hearing all the flack....But I noticed eventually THE WORDS CHANGE, and THEY START TO ADMIRE your efforts and consistency! So plug away Vamps, press onward, you can do this, you are establishing a new healthy way for your body, soul and spirit to thrive!!!! Or, at least that's how I look at it....creating a new orbit!
They have to fire up the thrusters to excelerate themselves out of the earth's gravitational pull to go to new places or heights!!! We too use all our strenght to get out of one orbit and into a new one, once there, we power down the rockets again!

          Re: Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

I've gotta tell you - I have never been on a WOE that I think is more fun. Challenging yes - but damn is it fun. I'm sorry - I have a thing for real butter - not that fact crud. And I can actually cook some pretty cool things. So experiment! Eat a TON of food that's good for you and it will still come off! It's an amazing principle and it just takes a lot more thought.

Yesterday I traded for some yummy cheeses from our local cheese maker - and I heard so many women say "I can't eat cheese.... I'm trying to lose weight" and even the guys were in on it. I would just sigh because I've gotta tell you - his herb cheese rocks and his swiss is going to just make my steak sandwhich lunch today and I won't feel quilty at all!

So don't forget to play with your food
