    Good Morning Stacers!

    Lots of talk about Turkey Day these past few days. Remember to ask family & friends to respect your needs. Don't let them lay a guilt trip on you for not eating stuffing, sweet potato with marshmellows, pie etc...Bring some alternatives so you can stay on your new WOE. If people are unhappy that you aren't eating all the carb laden food that is their problem & they can own it. DON'T BUY INTO ANY GUILT!!! Stay healthy!!

    I'm with you gm I had planned on trying to get my recipies all toghter today taking my turkey out of the freezer. I know planning is the key for me and I'm lucky I am doing the cooking so I can control what goes into things. Well I worked out some yesterday and I am going to try to hit the treadmill for a few minutes this morning. I only have just over 3000 more points I need for my presidental fitness gold award I realy want to make my goal of having that before 12/15. So its off to walk for me I hope everyone has a great Monday.

      Good morning everyone!

      I am so geared up for this weekend and I have absolutely no desires to cheat on Thanksgiving. We are going to a friends house and they have always been great about making something on plan for me. I plan on bringing legal stuff too! I can't wait to workout today! I am just loving my new DVD!

        Why is it that family does that kind of thing? I've had lots of people try to give me stuff they know I can't have.

        Anyway, I went to a football dinner banquet yesterday and they had nothing I could eat. Dinner was meatloaf, pot pie, mashed potatos, dinner rolls, pie and cake. I ate before the dinner, so I didn't touch anything. Felt horrible to have to pay the money and not get any food. Oh well.

        Three day week for me, got to remember to drink enough water when I'm not at work.

          Good Morning... I am so needing to get back on track..my stomach hurts...my head hurts and I feel blah.. I don't think I can resist sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving.. I tried fixing Mock ones and it is NOT the same thing.. Ironically guess what I have to take to dinner.. Green Beans...lol Guess I can handle that..

            Morning! We are having 2 T-giving dinners this week. I am making on here tomorrow night so my husband can have the dinner since he works thursday. That way I can practice my mock-mashed potatoes

            My weight was up 2lbs this morning - but I think it's because of my TOM showing up. I've been a little emotional lately which usually happens.

            I want to get an elliptical machine. I have a treadmill - but I would like to see if I could trade it in. Before I was 30 I had 3 knee surgeries and I just think the treadmill is asking for trouble. Being 5ft tall I have a short stride and so anything 4mph + is a jog and I don't feel like I am getting enough unless I do that. Just don't know if it's doable right now with finanaces. I think we have a "play it again sports" type place where you can trade in stuff which might work - just not sure.

            Oh well off to figure out breakfast - and I'm still tired just attribute that to TOM.

              Good morning everyone.

              I have a periodontist appt this morning, so have been a little leisurely. And tomorrow I work 2nd shift then I'm done til Monday. Five wonderful days off...gotta love it! I'm REALLY starting to get into the holiday spirit. And by the way, that spirit does NOT include overeating or carb loading, which I feel very good about.

              DH and I will put up our Christmas tree sometime this weekend. I'll start decorating the house on Friday. We can't decide if we're going to cut our own or get one pre-cut. DH is going to investigate today.

              I can't seem to get to the double digit loss. At this rate, I won't be able to make my goal by 4/1/08. So I have to find a way to 'step it up'...gotta think that over a bit. Regardless, I will be thinner and I'll feel good about myself, but I sure would like to hit that 145 goal.

                Good morning everyone!!! i'm not worried about T day this year my Gf's dad is doing atkin's also so i know there will be something i can eat. i agree about the sweet potatoes though! that was my favorite part!! has anyone ever tried Brownberry brand carb counters bread??? it is multi grain and delicious!!!!!!! 6 net carbs per piece! i treated myself yesterday and had french toast with sugarfree syurp for breakfast. It was AMAZING!!!!!! i've been very lucky this time around the only thing that has knocked me out of ketosis was SF gummie bears, but i stick to the rules of induction pretty religiously!!! hahaha sorry i totally lost focus in this post!! have a great day everyone!!!!! ps no movement on the scale today!!! posted my stats for the first time in the stat posting place!!

                  I finally had some scale movement! Hmmm I Gained 2.5 lbs! LOL *sigh* I really need to re-focus on water and the gym.. my foods have been fine. But I havent had nearly enough water to wash out the extra salty foods I had over the weekend. It's soo freakin discouraging though.

                  Work has been extra stressful... and that doesnt help with my self-esteem or current lack there of .... Losing wieght is one of those achievements that are in MY control ... not my boss's and I seem to be doing a shotty job there at the moment ... Need to make a "What I am thankful for list" to balance that out ...

                  ok enough whining ..

                  It's a 3 day work week for me ... I am looking forward to the start of the holidays .. and even thought about hosting a Holiday Open House with H'orderves and drinks..type deal for friends and neighbors to stop by one Saturday afternoon. Would be the first "grown-up" party I would be hosting.. and bit nervous about planning it.


                  Wow I am rembling today .. Shutting up now and will see you all later on!

                    Good morning!

                    I've already got a house full of kids - 1 arrived yesterday, making a complete set! I have not yet started planning dinner for Tgiving. None of us really like turkey, so we may not have any. The kids, when asked what they want, say things like "PIE. SMASHED POTATOES. CRESCENT ROLLS.", all of which I am happy to prepare for them. We often skip the stuff we don't like and simply don't serve it, lol.

                    The one thing I will truly miss this year is sweet potatoes with marshmallows. No way to fake that. Ah, well. It is SOOO not worth it to eat them.

                    I've been finding lately that although I am rarely tempted by carby foods these days, I do think about eating them. And immediately am assailed by a sort of "shadow" sensation of how awful itwould feel, physically, about 1/2 hour after I ate them. It's a good defense mechanism!

                    So, I'm still hovering at 204. No movement except up periodically,then back down. I thought for sure I'd be at 199 by now. I probably won't be by the end of this month, which is a bummer! I really don't know what the problem is other than that my body probably was stuck here for awhile on the way UP the scale.........anyway, I don't feel bad except for my awful, horrible cold (may amputate my nose this afternoon - I have an excellent plastic butter knife I can spare). I'm just bored with no scale movement! lol

                      hi guys,

                      this is a good post.

                      sandy, if you really don't think you can avoid the sweet potatoes, my best idea is to PLAN for it and make your carb count on thurs, fri, and sat almost ZERO. plan to have a small helping and then STOP. that way, you might not sabotage things. the WORST thing to do, and i have done it, is to say 'well i am goign to eat the sweet potatoes so i might as well eat the pie, rolls, mashed potatoes, dresssing, etc....' if what you reallly want is the sweet potatoes, plan for them and keep the rest legal. it is hard. good luck.

                      i personally am having no problem sticking to LC and prob won't all week, only becuase nothing can go down my throat easily except chicken broth and jello. kind of a stupid thanksgiving menu, but i am not sure i am going to go to tgiving dinner as planned if i am not feeling better. i really feel for all of you that are responsible for MAKING all those foods we won't eat. hang in there eveyrone!

                        Happy Monday STAC'ers!

                        How great is it that we get a short work week and the chance to be creative in the kitchen. I am not a very traditional girl so this Thanksgiving is exciting. I am a gourmet and I have discovered that I thoroughly enjoy creating tasty LC food. It is a challange that makes me proud to serve to my family and neighbors. I too love sweet potatos, but I am hoping that I can find a whole pumpkin and make a sweet pumpkin dish instead.

                        Yesterday evening I sat down and made my shopping list for each dish I plan on making. The main course is a standing crown pork roast. I am also going to make a Pumkin Pie with Pecan Praline crust (recipe found on the forum).

                        Todays plans are to drink 100 oz of water, keep carbs under 40, 30 minutes of cardio, 30 minutes of strenght training.

                          Goodmorning everyone!!!

                          I made it through one day without cheating and I also joined a challange, so that way it will deter me from cheating ever again. I know there are going to be some ups and downs, but I am sure that sticking to this plan and coming on here and getting your guys encouragement will make this all the more easier! But, one day! Yay! That's really good. I have my weigh in tomorrow and I am anxious to see. I don't think it will be too accurate because TOM starts pretty soon and I can tell that I am getting a lil bloated. So, my weight loss results will be a bit more accurate next week, I'm sure. We'll see what happens! I can't wait.

                          That doesn't mean I lost any weight though. I can tell that I Have lost a few inches. My pants that I just got for work are falling off me. Oy!!! They're size 20, just because dickies girl sizes are so altered (and I hate that, bastards....) Normally I wear a size 18. But damn, I can so not wait til I am a size something that I haven't been able to fit into in forever. Or even less than that. I don't think I have ever been a size 10 or less. =P

                          Thanksgiving will be easy. I work and I'll probably end up just eating the turkey along with the salad my mom makes with it. No gravy. I'll stay away from it. That's why I like dark meat because it's a bit more moist than the other meat. And Friday, I have the day off. wOOt. So that's awesome. I'll end up eating turkey all day and prepare some meals for myself.

                          Glad to be part of this board again. You guys rock!!!

                            Good Almost afternoon everyone!!!!!!!! I had a great weekend, work was good company was good and I stuck right to my plan with no issues! It feels good. I was up a lb this morning but for some silly reason I am always up a bit on Mondays ......... I think I neglect my water on the weekends .......... during the week I ahve such a good routine that it's just "Normal" along comes the weekends and it just knocks everything out of whack.

                            Thanksgiving is planned to stick to my plan so no worries here ........... just anxious to try on my muffin butt clothes soon!

                              Had a ucky day at work yesterday... Glad today I can be home and get ready for Thanksgiving. But I have to work tomorrow and the next so today is it!!!!!
