    Morning STACers, I thought I'd write this morning before embarking on a major trip....
    I went over to the portal and read the nice article by Dream 145. She has been here a long time, has lost a ton of weight, is known for planning and has my respect on the issue.

    I don't know about you, but I like to hang around success. It motivates me to stick to my plans, so I too will arrive at places I've just dreamed about. I am always trying to find people who HAVE "done it" what ever it is, and hang around them....Listening for what they think or HOW THEY THINK...Listening for their attitudes on things...watching them do their way... It increases my motivation alot to be with those who are living out their very own words...I like success and I want to be a success and arrive at the places I've dreamed about, and I know now it's up to me sticking to plans I made, that will bring me to those places. EVERY SINGLE DAY COUNTS AND ADDS UP, ALL GOING THE RIGHT WAY WILL LEAD YOU TO A DESTINATION...GOING BACK AND FORTH WILL LEAVE YOU PRETTY MUCH RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE...

    There are 3 or 4 people here, who I could consider my "class" we came on board at the same time, we went through Thanksgiving together here last year, taking pictures of ourselves and our foods...We made up an exercise challenge and did it all that week....I will never forget it....We are all very much focused on continuing to our goals.
    That weekend I also got attacked for the very first time on a BB...it broke my heart, and I obviously said somethig to hurt someone, and that caused a huge rant, and no matter how I apologized, or kept being nice about it, never returning rant for rant....I was crushed...I kept to the high road, and that person actually disappeared and I have no idea if she made it to her goals...But I never left, still working on going in one direction not back and forth!

    I set January 1, 2007 as a goal to arrive at stronger, and more together, and GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, NOT BACK AND FORTH...On Christmas Day my Mom (who lived with us) rolled over and fractured her pelvis....It was the beginning of the end that would follow almost 5 months to the day later...
    I lived the first quarter of 2007 in and out of the hospitals, living on baggie foods, my family prepared for me, sleeping in chairs rarely ever home....I never broke down, and I climbed stairs often for exercise... Atkins held me together!

    Today, I am strong, focused and still looking for those way ahead of me, so I can keep my edge and motivation....Not for you, but for me! I loved Dream 145's words...She rocks....she has done it...It's worth checking out.

    have a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Exercise, keep your focus on who you are becoming, celebrate that! If it gets rough, come here, someone is bound to be around here needing the strength YOU FIND TOGETHER!!!

    Good Morning Everyone.. Jess you are one strong woman..especially making it through those months staying on track. I am up 8lbs from my ticker..and its truly my fault.. I start every morning off right and then it goes down hill from there.. I will get back on track I am just fighting it right now.

      Thank-you Jess for a wonderful opener to a Fantastic day!!!!!!! I like what you said about hanging around success! I definitly do that, and feel it's important to group yourself with those who have characteristics you most want to develope in yourself. If you want to have success with your weight loss and WOL then you need to stick with those who have gone before you successfully and learn from what they tell you.

      That is the beauty of this board and the people on it whom have met their goals and have not left the people here behind. So just a moment of thanks and gratitude to all of you who don't have to be here but choose to do so to support encourage ad teach those of us coming up the road behind you!!!!!!!!

      Today is a wet snowy cold blustery yucky day in Vermont .......... if my schedule would allow me too I would be hybernating in my home today, but thats not possible! UGH!!!!!! I have an appointment at 9:15 this morning for my son and also have to take kids to school. I was planning on doing groceries till I looked outside and now I have decided to wait and do them tonight when the kids are home to lug them all in ......... see I knew I had kids for a reason!

      OK I am off to wake my 4 year old so he will get ready for school .......... have a fabulous day everyone!!!!!!!!

        Good Morning all!

        Jess your words always help keep things is perspective.

        I am having a hard time with the scale. It has been moving up and down between 3 pounds for what seems to be a month and it is very discouraging. I am so tired of the up and down roller coaster of emotions of getting on the scale and seeing it go down and thinking that I have finally pushed through this little plataeu and then getting on again and seeing it back up to where it was before. I have been trying so hard and I would really love to see some REAL results. Especailly with Thanksgiving on around the corner. What a better way to make sure I stay on track than some REAL weight loss!

        Well I am off to start my day! It will be a legal one....I think I am going to make a zucchini lasagna....I have to find a recipe for that! bye for now!

          Starr put the scale away for the holidays and just look past it's influence and just feel yourself and your body...do you feel better, are you starting to thrive...Don't make it about weighloss, make it about living!~ The scales will forever, always never-endingly fluctuate...No matter what you do....they will always bounce around! You will emotionally bounce too, if you dont' get away from them! We can't do Atkins well, bouncing around emotionally....

            Good morninig everyone!!! Thank You Jess for the wonderful words of wisdom!!!! i needed it this morning after a very rough day yesterday!! we took the kids to Ponderosa and i did really well i guess, i had serloin tips but i got the baked potato with every intention of giving it to my gf (she is a carb freak!!) but when i saw the butter and sour cream i thought 'i'll just have one bite' but i had 5!!!!!! then i had her go to buffet and had her get me a bunch of fresh broccoli and a little ranch. we were on the go all day yesterday so i did not get all my water down , the cheese burger i got from wendy's (no bun, hold the ketchup) was bad, the burger was nasty, but by the time i got to open it we were 10 miles away from the place!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! so i bought tons of water and i'm back on track. even after those bites of potato i was still in ketosis , i was lucky this time. i'm not chancing it again!!!! no movement on the scale (up or down) stuck at 189.5!!!! i feel like my TOM is comming and i just had it 2 weeks ago!!! today will be a better day!!! i will make sure of it!!!! hope everyone has a good one!!!!

              Jess you are right!!! Again!!! I feel great and I am so proud of myself for the weight I have lost. I am nervous about putting the scale away becuase I feel like I will gain weight if I don't get on it. (I know that sounds silly but I guess the scale keeps me accountable) But I think I am going to try it! I am going to put the scale away and not step back on it until Jan 1st! Wow just writing that is making me nervous!! But I can do it! I just have to keep my food in check and make sure I am exercising. In fact not weighing every day might motivate me more to exercise because I don't want to gain weight. So I am off to find a good hiding place for that scale, somewhere out of mind and not easy to get to!

                Good words to live by. I work very hard to not feel restricted by my plans. And fear is the mind killer (did I mention I’m reading Dune? lol)

                And I very much agree with you Jess, this is a great place to be because people here really do reach their goals. No diet I’ve ever tried worked. Here, I meet people everyday who’ve lost and are healthy. It helps to get past the times when nothing is happening on the scale.

                All’s going well, exercise almost (5-6 per week) every morning, eat good things every day (cheat free since I started more than a month ago). My plan right now is to watch how much I eat. I’m trying to learn the difference from when I’m hungry and when I just think I am.

                No weight change this week. But as this is the fifth week, I hope to see something when I weigh next time (waiting till TOM is done to weigh)

                    Thank you for that this morning Jess! You remind me so much of a friend of mine I "see" her whenever you type if that makes any sense whatsoever - LOL

                    I am determined to reach my goal and actually beyond. I am comfortable at 140 - but it is still to high for my 5ft frame and I know that so it is my 1st goal. Beyond that I have no idea how far I want to go - I'll be listening to my body.

                    This week I don't even see as a challenge anymore. Partly because of the support, maybe because I am making a mini-thankgiving dinner tonight since Joe works Thursday. Maybe it's because I just don't care about the carb ladden food anymore. I have cravings some days - but I don't seem to have an issue with cancelling it out with eating something else. This board helps a lot and it's the 1st thing I visit in the morning - well worth it!

                      Great post, Jess. Surrounding ourselves and learning from success is very key.

                      I'm working 2nd shift today; I barely know what to do with myself this morning. As soon as I finish I'm going to get on the elliptical.

                        Thank you for starting today's Roll Call off with such a powerful message Jess!

                        I couldnt be more thankful to have such a supportive group/forum to come to each day... It's empowering!

                        I have decided to set one micro goal for each day... even if it only takes 10 minutes .. or means one extra bottle of water... I want to set myself up for success! I am destined for failure if I dont downsize my day-to-day goals a bit.

                        Today will be:

                          jess, what a beautiful post. thanks for sharing it. i too like to associate with success, as it reallly drives me to continue to strive for success myself.

                          i did some light weights last night, and while exhausted it felt kind of good. today i will NOT do anything but rest. i got a long lecture from my doctor yesterday about how i need to really really rest or this mono could hang around a long, long time.

                          planning to eat some chicken soup today and do ALL of my holiday baking to give away. and write all my xmas cards this week! the month of mono is fast becoming the month of online shopping for xmas....

                            Good morning everyone. Thanks for today's message Jess.

                            Today is 8 months for me!! Unfortunately, I'm up a couple pounds, but I think salt is responsible. Dh made me more roasted pumpkins seeds. The best imaginable substitue for popcorn, but I have such a hard time with nuts and seeds. Can't resist them!

                              Jess, great post!

                              As a member of your "class", I'm so happy to still be here, still thriving, right along side of you! Adena is here too, and Joy, and I think we're going to be around for many years to come! Last Thanksgiving was scary territory, our first holiday, facing temptations. But we all made it through, each one of us stronger than before!
