  • Restarting Atkins after a 2 year lapse

*sigh* I'm sure my story is not unique.

I started the Atkins WOL/WOE in Sep 2004 at a weight of 150lbs. I did really well, and at my lowest, I was at 125lbs.

Well, I don't think I had a specific time that I can pinpoint at that I slacked off...

It was just me slowly not watching what I eat, and next thing I know, 3 years later, I am back at 150 lbs.

Aargh... all those hard work all went *poof*...

My current horrible cravings of poutine (fries with cheese curds drizzled with gravy) is very similar to the horrible cravings of chocolate I had prior to starting Atkins in 2004. Chocolate cravings are gone, only to be replaced by poutine cravings.

The horrible cravings triggered memories... memories of reading the DANDR, eating great, lots of energy, exercise etc...

I guess it's time to come home...

Your story sounds like my story except my weapon of choice was chocolate cake. I stopped Atkins in 2003 (at 135 pounds) and never learnt about OWL and all the phases and gradually gained the weight back plus some more! Good luck!!!

                      Thanks, everyone, for your support.

I had a tough day today... Perhaps I shouldn't have started this WOE this week, seeing how I have volunteered to be a teacher for one day, delivering the Economics of Staying in School program. It definitely did not help that my partner and I were assigned to a class with a few troubled kids, and lots of rowdy teenagers.

I almost wanted to pig out on poutine after the session end, but had to bite the bullet, and went for a bunless burger instead...

                      What a day....
