  • Tues Roll Call

    I love routine! I just absolutely love it when I am in the groove with my routines. A habit makes me strong and happy! A habit is HARD to start, but with a little committment, can be kept up with. Habits are what make me!
    I have a saying, "Good HABITS, Strong LIFE!"

    When I went to Australia, I came back and hit this jet lag "wall" and it took me 2 weeks to get back INTO THE HABIT of getting up at 5 am, just because. It took me 2 weeks to get BACK INTO THE HABIT OF working out on one piece of aerobic equipment for a solid half hour. I fiddle-farted around there with sleep and equipment jumping, and was in danger of seeing my habits slip through my fingers JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME....If my exercise goes down the tubes, my eating habits will soon follow.

    I notice when I drag my daughter to work out, especially after a long day's work, neither of us want to go, and it's sooo very hard to do it, but when we get back in the car, she is usually so incredibly pumped up! Because for both of us, endorphines truly improve our mood. We have a habit of working out after work on Mon an Thur nites....

    I have a habit of getting up and getting myself together here. I have a habit of exercising shortly. Twice a week, I have a habit of doing a second workout, for a solid half hour! I have a habit of getting focused, because I want to be here in a year!

    Habits, HARD TO MAKE, but with a little daily focus and committment, easy to keep up!

    Habits are such a good thing. I really felt like I had a nice habit/routine doing my walking...I was finally at the point that I was enjoying the exercise, the sweating & feeling my heart rate increase! Since I hurt my knee I'm unable to do the walking but have been trying to do some form of exercise. Who would have thought that I would enjoy the exercise! I have an appt with the ortho doc on Thursday to see what is going on. Luckily I'm doing something right as I've lost 3# this week!!!

      Good morning everyone!! Hope you have a great day. I will be cleaning all day-yuck! We have family coming in from Alaska on Thursday. Cooking for everyone and staying strong will be a challenge for me. I hope I can stay strong!! Wish me luck.

        Morning check in

        I feel awful this morning, just not enough sleep at all and what I did get seemed to be restless. And this stinks because I have stuff to do. Plus my eye is red on the inside and I'm a little nervous it might be pink eye (I think 1 of my sheep has it and it is contagious)

        My husband is over trying to push some coffee on me to at least wake me up so I can focus to get started with my day.

            I wonder if humans are habit forming creatures?

            This is my 39th day with this way of life I have to admit I do the same thing almost everyday from day 1 till now.

            Lost 2 pounds this week, very happy to see. I was stuck for three weeks! Hopefully this is the start of a whoosh. I'm going to work really hard to keep this up.

              I'm definately a creature of habit and routine. And I love it. Not at all boring for me.

              I eat the same stuff every day. I read the same books every year (plus some new ones). I do the same stuff around the house, and I just like it that way.

              I'm not back in the exercise habit yet. But I will be. For now, it's "occasional", but not forgotten. By mid-December, it'll be back in a definate schedule.

              I'm hovering at 201.5. Almost at the 200 mark, which will be 35 lbs lost!!!!!!! I'm so jazzed. My body feels healthy and good.

                  Well as everyone has said here I am definitly a creature of habit and have learned that if I can push myself to do anything for four to five days consecutively it becomes a habit for me and much easier to do ......... so when I need a change I set a goal of five days ........... it doesn't feel overwhelming and I know I can do anything for five days .......... after that time it becomes routine and is no longer a struggle ....... might not work for everyone but totally works for me. It works for me with giving up things as well If I can give it up for five days after that I really don't miss it. I am off to a busy day today getting my van fixed and hopefully my washer as well ........... not a good time for repair bills but oh well it's gotta be done!

                      Still recovering here from my sugar free chocolate binge... I felt weak and sick yesterday, but still had obligations... work etc... got to bed as soon as I went home from work and feeling a little better today. I think I got dehydrated and lost a lot of potassium.
                      Anyways, I'm up and going for a walk for an hour then I have quilt day and then work again! It'll be fun, but could really use a day at home... I love my 'home alone' days. I agree Jess, habits are what this is all about! Exersize, healthful eating, even our thoughts can be habitual... so we much choose wisely what we do and think.

                          Good Morning STAC'ers,

                          Happy Tuesday!

                          Habbits- I am trying to get the new ones set. I am doing good on the food. I really enjoy cooking low carb and it is so good and filling.

                          My problem is the gym. I can't seem to relax and take my time. About 1-1/2 hours is all I feel I have time for. My husband spends 2-3 hours every time. I am always thinking I have to run to the market- start dinner- check on our daughter etc. I think it is my minds way of trying to get out of it (if that doesn't sound to crazy).

                          Today is lower body weight training and swiming/sauna. Hopefully I will take my time relax and get in a decent swim.

                            Just checking in. It was a long weekend and I have been swamped at work. Luckily after having my TOM and being good over thanksgiving I am down 3 lbs!! yipee!! I struggled during my son's birthday on Sunday so I am kinda restarting yet again today. I have just got to keep myself motivated so I can get a few more pounds off before our trip to Reno right before Christmas....

                            I am really going to try and keep posting. These boards are what keeps me focused on taking care of myself again.
