  • My Tale

Like many STAC members, I have had great success with the Atkins WOE... twice! Now I'm about to start what I hope will be my third and final attempt at changing my life.

The first time I adopted the Atkins WOE I lost about 50 pounds - from approx 230 to 179. Then my Mom passed away and I started to eat. By the time I regrouped, I had regained 40 of those 50 pounds. Back on plan I went and, over the course of a year - with a few bumps along the way - I re-lost those 40 pounds.

I still wanted to lose at least another 20 pounds, but felt great!

Then life shifted again... my husband and I remodeled our kitchen. Things were in disarray for several months and we found ourselves looking for easy meals , often resorting to take out! Yikes!! Around the same time, the office where I work moved to a new building. I had established this great lunch routine that was now interupted. Sounds silly, I know, but I had my favourite places to hit for lunch (yummy salads!). I can't tell you how many times I started out the day with a good Atkins breakfast only to stray off plan at lunch. Days, weeks, months... and now - a little over a year later - I've regained about 50 pounds, bringing me back to my very original starting weight.

But I'm absolutely ready to do this again... I KNOW Atkins works!

Over this last week I've been opting for low-carb foods during a few meals (reaquainting myself with some recipes, stocking my kitchen with Atkins friendly foods, ect.), but I go into strict induction on Saturday. I'm finding myself really looking forward to feeling terrific again!!

I hate to say this... guess what... my husband and I sold our remodeled condo and purchased an old fixer-upper house... and the new kitchen gets installed in January! LOL
So... I'm hoping that connecting with others also following Atkins while help me to stay accountable and on plan!!

    Thanks for reading my Tale

      Thanks for the welcome, Jess!
Yes, I do feel like my experiences will help me to strategize alittle around our renovation havoc so that I can adapt to disrupted routines. But I do recognize that it will be a challenge!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you and other Atkiners!
      Cheers,

This is my second time on Atkins, also. I know it works and I know I can make it a permament part of my life. Nothing beats the way I feel when I'm eating like this. It worth as much to me as losing weight. Welcome back to Atkins!
