    Good Morning Stacers!!

    Well it is that time of year where everyone has a need to bring holiday candies, cookies & breads to work to share. The ultimate temptation for us all. At the hospital we have patients bringing the "devil's food" in also. It all looks lovely but I will not be eating any of it. I'm keeping a supply of cheese & turkey roll ups in the frig just in case I find myself slightly tempted.

    Plan ahead & stay strong during this holiday season. We can make it through these times with great success!!

    Good Morning.. It is a VERY hard time of year.. especially for a carb junkie.. I cleaned my purse out yesterday.. I had 3 packs of Peanut Butter Crackers in there...lol

    Went grocery shopping yesterday.. Didn't get a whole lot..but I think I should be okay for the week...

    Made it through Day 2 cheat free.. Already down 6lbs (some of that was cause TOM left..lol) 5 to go to get to my lowest.

    Not very happy..Can't go to water aerobics...Pool is closed..there is some kind of leak going on and they didn't get it fixed yesterday

    Yesterday was hard...I wanted to munch.. I didn't have a lot to eat here.. But today I am ready with some Beef.. for some reason that fills me in the beginning more then Chicken.

      Good Morning everyone! I thought we would be waking up today to a ton of snow from this "huge" snowstorm we were supposed to get but it fizzled out at about 4-6 inches ......... kids are disappointed with having school this morning but Mommy is fine with it

      Today I start stepping up the work outs to two a day and making the most out of what I am doing. I have been going through the motions but not really pushing myself at all! Time to stop that garbage and step it up!

      Glenda thanks for the reminder to stay prepared over the next few weeks and ward off temptations!

      Sandy way to go getting back on track! Just remember it's all YOU! You are in control and you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!

        Hi Guys! I don't know why I haven't been around much. I need to get back into the swing of things on the board. I've been pretty good Atkins-wise, but I really need to go shopping. Last night for dinner I only had pumpkins seeds and a piece of cheese! Bad, bad, bad! LOL! Someone was giving away some pumpkins and dh took two and made more pumpkin seeds for me. I accused him of being an enabler and he accused me of being ungrateful!

        My boss decided to low carb this week to see if it really works. I should be happy right? No, because I no he won't do it right and he'll gain weight and then I'll have to hear about it. Day 1 down and he was pretty good, but nowhere near where he should have been. He had fried chicken for lunch! I printed out a bunch of stuff for him including a list of induction foods, but he won't follow it. At least he might not bring goodies back from the bakery this week.

        Glenda, I think of that "devil's food" as artwork. It's pretty to look at, but I'd never eat a painting!!

          Good morning everybody! It' freezing down here in the south and I got up and went running with a friend at 6:30. Two miles and I feel just fantastic now....wow the sunrise was bright orange and it was just great out there!
          I have dialed down on endurance sport and am pulling way back on my eating so I can drop 5lbs...my size 6's got tight! They are my gauge, they are my scale! When they don't work, I've got to dial down the carbs I was eating to exercise longer and harder...So I've figured it out and progress forward from there! Man it's gonna be a great day!

            Morning, all.

            Man, do I miss exercise. I can't even do any yoga or small stretches with my back this way. And running is out of the question. So, I feel sorta sluggish, and not just because of pain meds. Ick.

            I went to bed really early last night and slept like a log. Still feel like another 2 hours would be fantastic, but unfortunately,my school district does NOT feel that way, and it always wins out on weekday mornings, lol. So, I'm up, lunches packed, having coffee, and thinking about the month of December.

            It's one month. After that, the goodies are gone, and all of the guilt-ridden folks suddenly hit the gym and discover new diets. My job is to stay focussed for the next 26 days (or more, of course, but I'm doing short-term). For 26 days I can CERTAINLY eat right. Avoid temptation. If I am tempted, I will just tell myself that after December, if I so choose, I can have something forbidden. Or not, if I so choose. But for right now, no way.

            I can do 26 days. Can you?

              good morning yall,

              first of all evermind i am so sorry about your back and i hope you feel better very soon. there is nothing like having to go to work when you don't feel well, but to have actual pain (and back pain at that) is terrible. feel better.

              sandy, stay strong!! you have done this before, you can do it. think of how good you'll feel at your family holiday gatherings back down at your lowest wt... or even lower!!!

              glenda, great post!! i am hungry for some turkey roll ups right now just thinking about them!

              heidi, 4-6 inches of snow kind of sounds like a lot to this southern girl! the kids still had school???!!! how is that possible????

              sheepie, glad to hear from you! yum, pumpkin seeds are my favorite food on earth, and i do NOT let my self eat them b/c i cannot practice portion control with them. lucky for you you can!

              jess, good one on the run this morning. i am anxious to hear how your back to induction/less strenuous workouts combo goes.

              as for me, off to work. working full days this week, and not terrbily tired out, either. tomorrow will be a day of rest and then back to work thur/fri. i am very thankful my colleagues understand mono and how wiped out it has made me. as for eating, still addicted to egg drop soup. my cholesterol is going to be ridiculous with all these eggs!!!!

                I know what you mean Sheepie, my boss wants to lose weight and I've tried to tell him how healthy Atkins is when I think he's been watching to see when I'm going to die of a heart attack.

                That's funny hrgillespie, here they are talking about 1-3 inches tonight and all the schoools are already ready to close and probably will. So much difference a few states away.

                6lbs Sandy, that's amazing! And I agree, I always eat a 'heavy' meat when I crave stuff, chicken has like no fat.

                Yuck holidays. Not much worry for me to go off plan gmitroff, I can't wait for the holidays to be over , start the Christmas music BEFORE Thanksgiving, that was horrible. And Christmas trees up the day after Halloween, way to burn a person out. Not that I don't love the time off .

                Took the morning off from the treadmill, I only had 6 hours sleep the day before so I went to bed early to catch up. Having fun with the water challenge.

                  When I was 18 I started out at 250+ pounds and embarked on the atkins diet..
                  I'm back at 250 and am ready to go again and KEEP it off this time.

                    Morning everyone! I'm down another pound which put me in the 150's! It's a number I hadn't seen in many years and it was exciting to see

                    I'm so making more of this spinach stuff for breakfasts! Maybe even lunches It's really good and since it freezes it's perfect.

                    I'm with you on the 26 days - I know I can do it! I have great confidence in myself now and also I really want to fit into those jeans which are sitting there mocking me

                      Good Morning STAC'ers,

                      Happy Tuesday.

                      If any of you are in the Pacific North West- be safe and stay dry. I understand that the flooding and mudd slides are very bad. My sister is near I5 on a Farm in Oregon & I haven't gotten a hold of her yet.

                      We are a brisk 7' F this morning - 13' or so with the wind chill. Brrrrr!

                        Good Morning,
                        Yesterday, was my kick butt day, and now it feels like I've been beaten with a baseball bat... so guess I better get out there and work out the lactic acid. I had a great walk/run yesterday, did my pushups and sit ups and rode my bike again. I'm also doing rung 1 this week to 'clean out my system' also not going to eat anything sweet... no fake chocolate... etc... as they seem to trigger cravings and I really want to make my christmas goal...

                        Not a big fan of Christmas myself... way too stressful. All that festive eating just makes people sick. This year, I'd like to get through Christmas 'cheat free' like I did for Halloween... and avoid the annual Christmas flu.

                        Partytrouble, glad you're well enough to go back to work. Take it easy though.
                        Evermind, hang in there post accident. Sorry you are feeling bad. I've been rear ended 3 times... it hurts. I hope you heal quickly and get back to your exersize routine.

                          Good morning, all.

                          Finished my first week of induction... So far, so good... Except I am wondering if I chose a bad time to start induction... All those holiday goodies (or maybe I should start calling them badies =P) are definitely tempting! And there is only this much cheese and cold cuts I can take... =P

                          Oh well... I chose this way of life... I have to live with my choice...

                          I'm going to the gym to just work the temptations off... =)

                            I'm from the Pacific Northwest and they are saying that the waters are starting to recede and that we have seen the worst of it. A lot of school closures in oregon still. I am about an hour north of portland so we were lucky not to have any flooding...this time anyways.

                            Woke up and did my situps, pushups, and pilates. Plan on doing cardio this afternoon. Took a day off from cardio yesterday since I had worked out on the treadmill fri, sat, and sun. If I do more than 3 days in a row it seems like I always end up with a injury. I really want just a few more pounds off before the 20th because thats when my dh and I go to Reno with a bunch of friends from Napa, California.. Temptations will be the worst there....

                            Anyways...have a great day everyone.

                              Good Morning all!

                              Well it is still snowing here in Maine and we have gotten at least 12" of snow! It has been snowing non stop since yesterday morning. The kiddos and the husband have been home the whole time too! I really needed my schedule to get back to normal but that didn't happen. Tomorrow hopefully. I am trying to stay focused on my eating...haven't done good lately. I will get back on track...Today!!!!
