Re: PTZers and Friends from around the World!

Vickie, I think this is a great idea to have a bit of the west coast gathering together. I think finding a bathsuit and getting to the pool is a great idea, and will be so good for exercise and refreshing....There are so many ways to fit exercise in, and in small intense doses, it's all you really need with an active lifestyle...
Keep up the good work out there!

      Evening PTZers!

Jess... thanks for endorsing our regional thread... don't forget that you're welcome to join us any time! Thank you also for the encouragment to exercise. I agree that exercise can be fit into even the busiest schedules. In fact, I've been thinking about walking at lunch and, on occasion, attending a work-out class at the gym at work. Of course thinking and doing are two different things! I'm definitely looking forward to attending aquafitness classes; it's such a good workout without putting too much stress on my knees.

I'm so happy... I have two weeks off from work! Much of that time will be spent gutting our kitchen. It's not going to be easy to stay on plan when the family will be relying on sandwiches (i.e., no stove or sink to wash dishes), but I'm determined. They can have ham & cheese sandwiches and I'll just have the ham and cheese!! I'll keep you posted on how it goes!

Speaking of our remodeling projects... let me know if you're interested in before and after pics of our kitchen... I love home designing and remodeling!!! This is our 3rd home and remodeling project.

All my "talk" of ham and cheese has got me thinking about dinner... so I'm off for now...

        Good Morning PTZers!!

Hope you are all having a great New Years Eve already!!

Just wanted to stop by and check in.

Ok, so I fell off the wagon, but *really* going back on tomorrow. Hubby will be on a business trip from the 2nd until the 12th of January, then home for a couple of days, then gone again for week or so.....

Maybe he will notice a change?!?!?!?!

        Anyway, have a great day!!

Re: PTZers and Friends from around the World!

          Hi PTZers,

Boy or boy... I was doing so well and then our kitchen renovations started on Christmas Eve (the beginning of our two week break from work). Not only didn't I (and still don't) have a stove to cook on, I found it hard to organize meals and snacks when we were constantly busy.

A couple pieces of good news:
          - I've only gained 2 pounds over these last 2 weeks ;
          - I started back to work today and feel better able to plan my meals around my work schedule (I've been on plan all day so far [sausage/egg for breaky and a yummy salad with tuna for lunch!] - and will be tomorrow, etc.). Dinners will be more difficult, but I'm going to work something out.

Our new kitchen won't be in place until next Wednesday... I pledge (my right had is raised ) to stay close-to (if not completely ON) plan over the next week, with full commitment to my eating plan once I have a stove!!

I've missed everyone (I stayed away these last few weeks out of guilt )...

Hi guys, I'm from the mountain zone, can I join in too? We go out to the coast quite often, and I love it. Does that count? I'm just finishing my first week of induction, after being away from this board, for over 2 1/2 years. So I need all the help and friends on here that I can have!

There likely isn't a real need for a separate thread, but I've always enjoyed reading the Kentucky thread (seems to be a bit regional) and thought it might be fun to identify some ADBB friends that might be on-line when I found myself on the board at 9pm. I certainly don't intend on staying away from roll call or participating in other threads... ... the more friends the better!

There's only one person actually living in Kentucky on that thread. There's me in Virginia, one California, one Oregon, one Colorado, one Illinois, one Connecticut and so on! We did have one from Ontario, but she fell out over Christmas. All are welcome on the Kentucky Derby thread, as well. I think Grant would look good as a Derby Girl!

My best friend lives on Vancouver Island, so I am always up on PST.

                  Morning SunnySmile

When I make my way over to the Derby Girls (DGs) thread I do notice that you have members from all over... I've also noticed that you all have a great connection. To be honest, that's what I'm looking for in this PTZ thread... a great connection with a group of people. Of course I could get that connection and support from a group like DGs - and you never know, I may post a "hello" in that thread later today ... but connecting with people in a similar time-zone really made sense to me (I noticed that the DGs are all from the East).

BUT... please, please... anyone can post here!

The one in California (Kass) and the one in Oregon (Sherri) are as West as you can get, then there's the one in Colorado (Marty). There's only 2 of us in the East. We would love to have you post on the Derby girl thread. We do have a wonderful connection and I am glad we found each other on that thread. Hope you make the same connections on this thread. Support and accountability are so important in this WOL. I might break my word to myself, but not to my friends. Anytime I feel like eating something I shouldn't or not exercise, my friend's faces pop into my mind and I do the right thing.

I think I'll have to create a PTZer siggy image!!!

Well... still not 100% back on plan but working on it.
My new fridge, stove, dishwasher, range hood and microwave arrived yesterday (they're beautiful! [can you believe I'm excited over appliances? ]). The only thing we could set up was the fridge. I made some eggs for myself this morning... in the microwave!!! They were so rubbery and horrible!!! Lunch was a good salad with tuna, green beans and cucumbers... lunch is easy 'cause I'm at work and just head to the salad bar downstairs. It's dinner that I'm worried about. I think I'm going to stop at Safeway on the way home and pick up a roasted chicken and just nibble my way through the evening. I have a package of cooked beef slices in the freezer... I HAVE to remember to take it out for breakfast tomorrow because I am NOT having microwaved eggs again!

I was so sure that the lack of a kitchen would not affect my WOE, but that certainly isn't the case. BUT... I'm working hard to find a way!!
