  • I still say NO

I'm sitting in my classroom surrounded by a) green frosting, b) sprinkles, c) candycanes, d) brownies, e) cupcakes, f) chocolate truffles. The kids are watching a movie. I'm drinking a cup of tea.

I've eaten my lunch and I still have fresh raspberries to eat as a treat later if I want them. My tummy is full.

    And I've been saying NO.

It's getting harder. So I decided to post this announcement that I'm still saying NO. It would be awfully embarassing to have to come back on and tell people that I said yes, even once.

Hanging in there! This, too, shall pass!

Evermind... I'm with you!! I just returned from a lunch with my coworkers - we went to Red Robin - and everyone was having fruity or creamy drinks and fat burgers with yummy fries. I had a "burger 'n greens" - a bunless burger with salad/ranch dressing and feel terrific for saying "NO" to all the temptations around me.

Keep up your resolve... you're doing great!

      Re: I still say NO

I'm home now, eating a yummy cauliflower and zuchini casserole with cheese. I resisted all temptation and promised myself that later this evening, if feel like it, I can have some low-carb icecream with cocoa sauce (homemade, no carb). I may not want it - generally these days I haven't had much of a sweet tooth come evening.

I'm very proud of myself. Today was the worst in terms of the temptations that are out there this season. If I could manage to say NO all day today, chances are that I'll be able to do it again tomorrow!

Doesn't it feel GREAT to say NO! We just need to remember that feeling of accomplishment whenever we're tempted to cheat. I had some temptations in my room today too... chocolate chip cookies, gingerbread, cupcakes with mounds of icing, and m&m's. The kids enjoyed it but I stayed away! Good for you for saying NO!

This is the hardest time to so nO!!! I am struggling with all of the deserts that I am presented with. A student brought in Baklava.....I wanted to taste a little but I didn't. It looked so gooey with tons of sugar oozing out. Once I saw that.....It was confirmed that it is not worth it.

              Re: I still say NO

I am pretty much safe now. Only one more day of work left but i am not worried. A bit concerned about tomorrow at my mom's but i will do the best i can with what is put in front of me and i will say NO to dessert. Christmas morning i was thinking of going off plan...i mean heck it is Christmas. But have decided against that potentially slippery slope. I am making cinnamon rolls and strata as well as fresh fruit salad for dessert. Not even sure what to do about Christmas dinner, but i believe it will be just the 3 of us so i am not too concerned. Prolly something simple and easy. I think i am going to try to make some eggnog so that i can have a bit of a treat along with everyone else. Remember it's easy to say no for just one day Evermind...you rock!
