  • Merry Christmas 2007!

Merry Christmas STACers. This morning I think of you all, spread out all over the country.
I know to day will be special in all of your homes. I know there will be something you can fix your heart on a smile about.

We've come so far this year, hold on tight to that today as you stand before spreads of foods you may have not seen, touched, or tasted for sometime.
Take a moment to remember WHY you do what you do with food. Low carb makes my body feel good! Low carb has improved the total quality of life for me. Low carb and being sugar-free gives me energy, and no stunning fatigue-flats!

Eat low carb today, drink tons of water to remain a touch bit full and in control. Wave off the potatoes they have so much sugar in them, wave off the cakes, pies and cookies....eat light and you will be the one feeling good later....
On Thanksgiving I OVER ate, I ate legal but I ate more food than I am use to. It was a terribly uncomfortable feeling, and I JUST COULD NOT GET RID OF IT THAT EASILY....I put on all my warm clothing and took off walking! I walked for an hour, just to help speed along digestion! I have that in my memory bank again.
I don't have to feel that way ever again. I don't have to say yes and feel even worst with the sugars and bloating and weight gain. I can say no, no thanks! I'm fine!

A final thought, you know your crazy family member? The one that never changes, acts the same each year and drives you crazy!!!! Remember the overly demanding, critical, never pleased one? Remember the selfish one, who only can see themselves. Remember the rude, crude one?
Well I would venture to say, they are gonna all be there and all be the same. Nobody changes but YOU! You can change, and KEEP THE CHANGE YOU HAVE WORKED SO HARD FOR. Just accept and embrace and smile, feel good about you. You never know, someone you love and who bugs you might not be here next year. Hold your head up high and enjoy!

Merry Christmas Glenda.. I would think that my kids would outgrow the getting up early.. My 18 year old tried to get us up at 4am!...lol I read an aol poll that one of the worst Christmas songs sang is Merry Christmas with Love.. by Clay Aiken.. I think its the most beautiful song.. Its about a women who's home is empty Christmas Morning (all the kids are grown) and the carolers come to the house to sing.. I think its so sweet..

Heck - I'm not too old to want to get up - and I wasn't expecting anything this year but got a roomba (so now I'm sitting on my butt vacuuming - LOL)

Kids got totally spoiled and it was worth it.

I'm now just washing dished from last night - start the next load in the dishwasher in a little bit with the crystal and then start meatballs after that.

I pulled something in my side so I am not exercising today - but I'm thrilled to death - a shirt that didn't fit at all since about 2003 fit great today! And as a x-mas gift, my husband called me "hot" LOL.

            Have a great day everyone!

              Good Morning Stacers,
              Great Christmas post Jess!
I slept with my mouth guard on last night for the first time, it felt so weird, but I think it helped. I also think it all may be related to a calcium and magnesium deficiency, as well as old trauma from being rear ended 3 times over the last 20 years... My dh has been massaging my feet, and back... that helps too... also doubling my dose of calcium/mag

Anyways, Christmas... here we are on the west coast... my kids said they wanted to get up at 11 am!!! but we are making them get up when the grandparents arrive at 8:30! lol! Teenagers!

Last night we went to our friends house for dinner, it was really really nice. Then we came home and hung out, watching TV (It's a wonderful life) and played a game of yatzee! he he! and my husband made casadillas... and we sat around talking. I tried really hard to keep my mouth shut with my son and not argue with him about the whole joining the Navy seals thing vs college.... just let it be for now... Our friends kinda freaked out about it for me and went off on him... he he! It's better coming from someone else besides mom.

Well, Merry Christmas! Hope you all are able to stay legal... I have not. Sorry, but am looking forward and planning my induction starting tomorrow!

                Merry Christmas, everyone!
Checking in because I NEED to... Kind of easing into induction as I get things ready. As I reflect on my past year and all that God has led me through, I pray I can focus on regaining my health and shedding a ton of poundage this year. There are still a few baked goods here that I'm going to give to the family today - then hopefully start the clean induction tomorrow. Also getting the vitamins and supplements ready, my water, etc., etc. Oh, and a legal foods to take to work with me. And still enjoy this Wonderful Day! God bless us all!

Merry Christmas. Every day you can walk , every day without pain, every day you know you are alive, every day you can sleep on a bed that is yours , is a good day. Have a wonderful holiday. I pray to learn how to be thankful for things I take for granted that others cannot dream of doing or being able to do.

Merry Christmas everyone! My 7yr old got us up at 730am, so that wasn't so bad, but then I had to wake up the 3yr old and now she's pretty crabby. Had lots of fun opening presents. Had quiche for breakfast. Now I'm looking for a cornish hen recipe for dinner. Have a wonderful, legal day everyone!

                        Re: Merry Christmas 2007!

Good morning, everyone, and a merry christmas to y'all.

(Here's the cool deal about Chanuka: you open your presents at NIGHT! NOBODY wakes you at 4a.m................lol)

If you guys have not read the last post from Sandy on yesterday's roll call thread, go do it now. Heartwarming. Special. (And Sandy, I"m glad you found an outfit, too!)

Today is a relaxing day at my house - video games, maybe some cooking (devilled eggs have been requested) and reading good books. Tomorrow, MY Christmas tradition happens - I hit Target at 7 a.m.for the 50% off sale - wrapping paper (sans Santas) and ornaments (I hang them in our house all year round: silver and red ones from our non-canopied wrought iron canopy bed, some from curtain rods between curtains, some in bowls or huge vases) and other cool things that don't say "CHRISTMAS!" all over them, but are still only around for the holidays. After Target, Mervyns, then Starbucks with my girls, and finally, home to decorate and play with my new stuff. (Have my eye on a throw, and blue towels with snowflakes on them......) I can't wait!

Enjoy your holiday, folks. I wish you warmth and joy and fun! And, as Jess said, don't eat carbs! (or if you do, eat only a few)

Good Morning and Merry Christmas all~ a beautiful bright sunny day dawned.

DH and I opened gifts this morning and I got to talk at length by phone with my sister this morning Planning a fancy dinner later but intend to get some chores done before a nap...

Slipped last night and succumbed to a piece of candy but I'm back on track this morning.

Wonderful sentiments from all the previous posters this morning - very grateful here for all that we have and all we can do.

Merry Christmas everyone! I spent Christmas eve with a great friend and helped her decorate her tree. Her family and job has been causing her a lot of stress lately and she wasn't feeling festive. I have to wait until tonight to open gifts as my brother, his wife, and my new niece are coming over for dinner. So far I have stayed completely legal on this trip and I'm planning to do the same tonight. I weighed myself on a scale here and it showed me 9 pounds lighter...will need to check that one at home...lol. I don't have the heart to tell my family they all weigh 10 pounds more than they think.

                              Update.

Evermind and others, sorry about wishing you a Merry Christmas. I just got carried away this morning. I know that not everyone celebrates Christmas. I should know, virtually all my coworkers and clients are Jewish!! LOL! Evermind, here's something funny. My ds learned a Chanukah song at school and he's been singing it for weeks. No Christmas songs, just that one Chanukah song, over and over and over and over...you get the idea. I recorded it and sent it to my parents and they've sent him a Chanakah book for Christmas, but it hasn't arrived yet!

Well, church last night was great. This morning was great. My quiche was great. I haven't walked in so long that I won't admit it, but this afternoon I put on my mp3 player and walked for 45 minutes and felt great! And now our low carb dinner is in the oven. I checked the calendar and I had miscalculated, so I should be bloated and pmsing now, which means I should hit the 100's very soon. Do I sound cheery or what? LOL!

I hope everyone had a splendid day and if not, for whatever reason, there's always tomorrow!!! Isn't great that as long as we're alive, we get a new chance everyday to improve our lives?

Am I sappy or what today? I'll be back to stoic tomorrow! LOL! Carry on.
