Re: Roll Call 12/16 - The Day After
Whew! I'm back from my "day after Christmas clearance sale blowout" run. Got a ton of things, spent less than $100: table runners, pillows, glassware, laquered tray, ornaments, big copper glass bowl........and more. This is my FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!
Yesterday I had my FIRST CHEAT EVER. Just a couple of chips with onion dip. And 4 mint m and ms. And you know what? They didn't taste as good as I remembered. Not at ALL. Which leads me to the inescapable conclusion that when I do this woe, my tastebuds get healthy, just like the rest of me, and that, frankly, the forbidden, carby foods that I have occasionally longed for aren't so fantastic, anyway.
I am seriously considering joining the re-induction gang, but I'm not sure that I'm willing. Willingness is the key, of course. No matter how much we WANT to do something, and KNOW that it's the right thing, if we aren't WILLING, it won't work. Been there, done that.
I'm on the beans rung of OWL, and I'm willing to go back one or two rungs, for sure. I'm still figuring out if I have the will to go all the way back. What I AM willing to do is start working out, now that my hip is better. My dd is dropping her YMCA membership and will join LA Fitness. We might meet Hopejoy in the aquaaerobics class - who knows?
So that's my commitment: I will work out every day. Yoga, running, gym. (not all three every day, of course, but at least 2 of them, for 1 month.) I am also going to use my wonderful ab lounger 5 days a week.
Oh, and by the way, I just wanted to let all of you know that I really, really love you guys. I haven't been as emotionally available in a couple of months, and I haven't been particularly positive about stuff, but you guys are consistently HERE, consistently WISE, and consistently........good buddies. I love that about y'all. Don't ever change.
