  • Quick! Save me!

    Instead of Lebanese, my boss brought in a Turkish mixed grill feast! YUM-O! I've had beef, lamb, chicken, salad, a tomato and cucumber salad, cucumber dip and a little hummus. All is good...I've easily resisted the rice and pita, BUT there is baklava calling out ot me. Please talk me out of eating a piece of baklava. I LOVE it!!! One little piece wouldn't hurt very much. I haven't lost weight in ages, so it probably wouldn't make any difference, right? HELP! TALK ME OUT OF IT!!!!

    Baklava? It's probably the usual recipe. Made with frog skin (that's the crispy part), caramelized snot, and those things that feel like nuts? Nope. Dried Rabbit poop.

    If not, then tell yourself that you'll have some the next time he brings it in. Just not today.

      Try to remember yourself at your heaviest weight and remember how you felt when you were at that weight. It is worth it now?? I don't think so. Remember this is a WOL and there are no cheats that are acceptable.

      Try these ideas: Drink a glass of water, eat something that is legal, or remove yourself from the situation and do something else.

      Hope these help.

      Just remeber: It's not worth the guilt that you will feel after you eat it.

                You know you really don't want, one piece followed by feeling bloated, guilt, etc...
                Just not worth it. Eat more of the really yummy stuff, beef, lamb, etc..

                What I know:
                1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
                2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
                3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
                4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

                  Thanks! Danger averted. I'm home and I didn't succomb. It was soooo tempting though! Most sweets don't tempt me much, but baklava is different. Evermind made me laugh, but it still looked good to me, so thanks to everyone!
