  • Well, here we go again!

I am back at Atkins for like the umpteenth time. I come back to this way of eating periodically when I've had an 'episode' in my life that caused a little weight gain, and this diet always brings me back. Problem is, I get down to around 147 and then it stops there and doesn't go any further. It is very frustrating and then I give up the dieting and go back up to around 150 and just maintain that weight. I would love love love to drop 10 more pounds...that's it! It seems so bloody difficult to get back to this pre-baby weight! I am hoping that I can stick it out this time past the plateau for at least awhile to see if it moves.

It sounds as though your body thinks 150 is just fine. Is it possible that 147 to 150 is a good weight for you? How tall are you and what is your frame size??? As you get older and after babies, you do tend to weigh a little more. I know that's not what you want to hear.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe your body has it's own stopping place. I also want to encourage you to think of this as a lifestyle not a diet to just drop weight with. If you do have underlying metabolic issues going off low carb will take you right back to weight gain.

Well I was 15 pounds lighter 3 years ago, so I'm trying to "jolt" my body in to remembering that..LOL! I know at this point however that it will take alot of work to get me back. I've always been a very active and fit person, that does alot of weight training. I just want my leaness back and I realize I have to stick to eating the right way and the right amount of calories to get me there. I can not stay off carbs forever..it's just not possible with the type of activity I do, carbs are required for weight training (in order to build muscle that is). At any rate, I am breaking from the building phase of my workout and focusing on cardio to try and get my body % fat down. Sunny I am 5'6" and my build is considered a medium.
