  • Coffee?

    Hi,

    Im new to these forums and have been on the atkins diet for three days now.Well i drink alot of coffee and was wondering if this will affect my weightloss??Or is decaff an option??

    I know that alot of people who drink coffee or caffinated drinks during and after induction experience a stall. I'm pretty sure the book suggests that all caffine is cut out for the first 2 weeks.

    But, since I don't drink coffee or caffine, I am not really sure.

    You should re-read the book to make sure, though....

      Hi thanks for the reply. So if i wanted to get info from the book do i have to buy it or can i look it up on these forums?? Also if i do have to buy it which one do i order cause i see a few diffrent choices??hope to hear from you soon

        You need to get the book - there is a laod of info here, but it supports rather than replaces the book. The one to get is the 2002 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, often abbreviated here to DANDR. It's the last edition that was entirely written by Dr Atkins before his death, and is the one followed by this board.

          Do yourself a huge favor & get the book...Dr. Atktins New Diet Revolution 2002 version...and then read the entire book.

          You can order the book at Amazon.com or get it on e-bay & of course your local bookstore.

            Caffeine could stall you one day.... Especially if you are drinking LOTS.. I drink one to two cups every morning and I haven't had a problem... If I was to give up my morning coffee...I think My family would have to move out for a week and let me detox without them here..lol

              I drink a pot of coffee a day. it has definitely slowed my weight loss. but I knew that going into it.

                To be healthier it is probably better to give it up, however, I have not. As with others, people would have to move out of the house! I believe decaf is mentioned as an alternative but you'd have to verify as I have both books and sometimes get confused! LOL

                Check on half.com or ebay or a copy, there is alot of information. If in the meantime you started, http://www.atkins.com/articles/nutritional-approach
