    Good Morning STACers....I had a very interesting experience. When we started the new year, my daughter and I set a goal to loose 5lbs this month. How? Eating lower rungs, exercise and water. I then went over to mileage challenge and set a goal to log x amount of miles in a month. I got on the bike and did great...I've been on the bike again and I've run some...
    Then life kicked in and I got distracted and forgot to make time to visit my goals on a daily basis. I was still active, but I was not purposeful....

    I am not only a goal setting, but I thrive with numbers. But I had not been in this mode for a while, so I wasn't paying attention....When I don't focus, I don't seem to really meet my daily requirements that lead me to the goal.

    Yesterday late afternoon, time for a bike ride and it crossed my mind that I could take that bike ride....then somewhere it trickled into my thinking, "yeah because you set a goal to do x amount of miles this month"...then this morning it came to me again, as I am getting ready to go run....I also set a weightloss goal this month....my size 6 jeans don't fit right now....
    Ok, so focus is HUGE FOR MY SUCCESS and MY WILL POWER IS ENGAGED WHEN I FOCUS....
    I am still doing all the same old things, but I lost track of my new destination! Spending time on that will actually allow me to move in that direction! I had simply let that attitude and action slip....which puts me in the "SORTA ZONE"....I Sorta worked out. I sorta did this or that...But when engaged with my goals, I DO IT! I work harder, go a bit longer, push back a bit of the food....
    My vision this month is to loose 5lbs. I just sorta forgot!

    Good Morning Stacers!!

    This is one area I need to focus on...setting some mini goals. I've also realized that I need to be diligent in measuring & weighing my food. Lots to work on!!!

        I'm not very good with goals. I bought a dummies or idiots book for organizing and one of the things it said to do was to write down goals for each room in the house and each area of your life. I did that and even though I don't pay enough attention to it, I can tell that it can help. I need to get back to that. I've read so many times that it's important to write down your goals. You'll have a better chance of achieving them. I guess that's one reason the challenges work so well (not that I've ever done one). Good post, Jess. Goals. Have them and work to achieve them. I need to work on that.

          Good Morning Everyone, Just checking in real quick. Great Post Jess, you have a way with words and you always get me thinking. Yesterday went really well for me, and im keeping up with my fitday so i decided to do induction over since i didnt keep up with my numbers the last 2 weeks. Im also very psyhed about this challenge im in, it has me motivated to say the least. Well i hope everyones day is a great one, i need to go do my fitday and post in my journal before my day gets going.

            Some days I need daily goals or else I can't focus at all. However, life here sometimes gets a little crazy. Yesterday - goal was laundry. Distraction was baby sheep - triplets with one of them 1/2 the size of the other 2. Sat outside with them 2 hours before I decided I was thirsty and came in. Then we moved all three into the barn to help the new mom out. Sometime in there I needed to eat - but it wasn't happening..... finally did get some wings for dinner though.

            I really need to eat a salad of some sort today. I've been having my veggies mixed in stuff and need to eat some plain. Just haven't decided how yet.

            So I do need to focus.... and I need to make stuff to eat so I can grab and go some times - like yesterday. Didn't cheat - but didn't eat enough I know that.

            Need to start the day and check on everyone See if I have any more babies out there!!

              Goals are very important to me. It gives me something to look forward at as I go along. It is so easy for me to get overwhelmed by the big picture. My mini goals I have set and the challenge I am in are great ways to help me get to my goals but not get overwhelmed. I am also going to start making daily goals of exercising for at least 30mins and drinking at least 3 quarts, if not 4,of water.

                Right now my goal is just to get that stubborn scale to move. I have been stuck for a week. I am going to up the cardio and hopefully kick start everything again. Have a good day everyone!

                  Good Morning STACer's,

                  The wife and my son's finance, all of us hit the exercise equipment. 10 minutes each, bike, treadmill, ecliptical, and (I'm not sure what the other one is, but you basically pull up your body weight). So......I am sore as all get out this morning! Haha. Eating good, probably could still do better, lots of snacking on induction allowed things, need to drink more water and try to cut out the snacking. I hope everybody has a wonderful low carb day!!

                    Good morning, all!

                    Jess, Yes, I definitely feel like I have a purpose when I have goals, especially mini goals. You would think the need to be healthier and happier would be purpose enough, but apparently not. The challenges on this board help me in that way. Even though there is no one holding a gun to my head, it somehow motivates me to do what I need to do when I've told someone I would. Does that make sense?

                    Today is weigh-in, so will be excited to report some kind of definitive weight number. I'm not going to obsess over that number this time like I did last time, but I do want to keep track once a week. I am also going to suggest to my group that they measure every week, since that is what I'm going to do, too.

                      Scooter, I didn't address you directly yesterday, but I see you here in the thread this morning. Welcome Back! I'm so glad you're here. We miss you TONS when you're not. Jump back in with both feet, like you always do.

                      Jess, I have goals too. My goals for this month are as follows:
                      1) Run/walk the ING half marathon with Adena on 1/27.
                      2) Get back down to 175 lbs.
                      3) Eat pure/natural meats and vegetables to my appetite.

                      In fact, I'm going to go put those in my signature so that I've got it handy every day.

                        Jess I love your post ........... I am such a goal driven person. I thrive on them and find myself driven to beat my own goals ........ I have them all written down and face them daily.

                        Lists are key for me and I have them for everything. Each night before I go to bed I sit down and make my list for the next day silly things Making Sure Livy gets her bath and Laundry gets folded ect ......... it keeps me on task and makes me accountable for allthings in my life ...... it's too easy to get distracted and find myself at the end of the day wishing I had gotten more done.

                        There are of course lazy days and most often I find them being the days I forgot to make my list the night before! Planning and goals are key for me!!!!!

                        Thanks for emphasising this for me this morning!

                          I'm definetly going to walk around with post-its and put a list of goals up in each room!!! What a great idea!!!

                          And another goal is to find that recipe for flaxmeal pancaks on here!!! Anyone? Anyone??

                          I'm up .4lbs. today... but I know why I need to focus on why I'm doing this WOE instead of finding counterfeit candy to sneak in... it's still junk food!

                          Feeling good about today though. I'm gonna clean, cook some low carb stuff for the week to reheat (I need quick fix stuff so if anyone has a recipe for something awesome that you can make for the week and reheat let me know)

                          Other than that - I'm gonna go do a pilates video in a minute here and take on the day! Have a great day everyone!

                            Morning STACers... quickly checking in before starting my day.

                            The last two times I attempted the Atkins WOE/L my goal was to "lose weight". Pretty vague, hey?! Well... I lost some great weight, but each time lost sight of where I wanted to get to and "fell off the wagon". I was a member of the ADBB then, but I rarely took advantage of the support here OR the benefits of posting GOALS and being held accountable to what I post. That's why this time it feels different. I've set a series of mini-goals and listed them in my signature. I feel guilty when I let myself and my fellow/ette Atkins buddies down by not posting and staying committed to this WOL. The point is... this time I have goals and I'm confident that they will make all the difference!

                            Off to work now... keep at it everyone!
