Re: Roll Call 1-8
I could have written this mysef. I'm a list maker to the core! That brought me to Flylady to get my house organized. And it works - as long as you do it. What makes me do it? It's broken down into lists. Small lists. Do-able lists. Do that until a routine is established and then you can add to it. If the list gets too long I can feel myself slipping and not following through. If I do slip, it's easy to jump back in because my list is short and I don't feel as though I'm too far behind or there is still too much to do. After doing Flylady for 8 months I have a good routine established. Knowing that a messy house means a messy life.. and now I have a clean house it was time to look at my life (my body). What a mess!
Hey, I'm Rachel. I live in Lousiana and we lost our home to Hurricane Rita. I jumped back to Atkin to gain some control in my life and it worked. I was down 36 pounds and then life got really complicated with trying to rebuild, I got in a wreck which totalled my truck (not my fault) and I just gave up. The pressure was too much. I slipped, I flopped.. and I finally got tired of where I was once again.
I started reading the boards, planning meals, getting water in and added exercise. Some days it all falls together. Some days it doesn't. Hopefully I will establish a rountine and it will become second nature. I try to keep my meals simple and quick. Once that routine is established I will move on to adding things and broadening my recipes. For now this is giving me a routine. Control. So far it's working!
Before grocery shopping I plan my meals. All of them. I don't want to run out of food - that leaves me wide open to slipping. When I get hungry I look at my list of meals. It tells me what to eat. No thinking.. no dreaming.. no.. ahh.. I could have this or that. Nope. I'm still too green to be dreaming up recipes to try. I need routine.
My goals for the day are simply to do flylady routines, water, food, exercise.
So far so good
