  • Starbucks/4Bucks!!

    Here I go again Obsessing over Starbucks!! I have two gift cards and can't figure out what to get at Starbucks I mean 4Bucks hehe!! It gets expensive going to them.
    I looked up their website and their sugar free is still 20 Grams of carbs for a Venti. Why in the world!! that's terrible. Maybe I'm not figure it correctly.
    I like Mocha latte's Venti size decaf. I think they don't have mochas sugar free but they have hazlenut. Any suggestions on this? Why would a sugar free be 20 grams of carbs?

    It's the flavoring syrups they add to them, I think. I use to get the coffee of the day - decaf. I use to think it's a treat.. what can I get. Now I see the GOING is the treat. I haven't been in a good while. Easier to make my coffee at home

      you pretty much have to avoid the lattes and such. it's the milk. Get a cafe americana with a shot of sf syrup and room for cream. The have heavy whipping cream in back you just have to ask for it.

        They JUST got sugar-free mocha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Order a breve latte and ask them to make it with heavy cream diluted with water. They'll do it - say you can't have half and half.

        Don't do it very often. But you can do it as a treat.

          heavy cream doesn't have any carbs does it?
          I looked on the container I have here at home and it says 0 for 1 TBLS.
          So if I get their decaf with the heavy cream I should be ok correct?
          their shouldn't be any carbs at all or am I missing something.

            Might be one or two, because cream, I think, has trace amounts of carbs.

            But add the sugar-free syrup if you love mochas.!!!!! The sugar-free has no carbs. The carbs on the venti latte you saw were from the MILK, not the syrup!

              WOW so now I can use my gift cards. I think there's like 20$ on each!!
              I'll have them for a while but it's nice to go on the weekend and get a coffee there.

                  Well if you lived near me I'd surely take you to Starbucks.
                  I'm obsessed with them... that's my downfall and Chocolate!!
                  You'd think as hard I work that I'd have no problem peeling off the weight.
                  I'm a Massage Therapist and do Physical Therapy type bodywork and I move peoples bodies around like they were nothing. I have muscle galore on my upper body and do squats and lunges all day long with working with people so as to not hurt my back.
                  But...no go. I need Cardio! In live in Florida so there's no excuse. it's gorgeous here right now. I have my doors open.

                    Sorry to be a downer...but....

                    For induction, you can order a decaffeinated coffee with heavy whipping cream and a shot of sugar free flavored syrup. I think they use Torani, don't they? Each 'shot' is 1 carb and 1 sweetner.

                    The mochas, even sugar free, are NOT carbohydrate free, as those use chocolate SAUCE as opposed to syrup. Here is a link to Torani's sugar free chocolate sauce

                    The ingredients: Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerine, Polydextrose, Maltodextrin, Heavy Cream, Cocoa Butter, Modified Food Starch, Natural Flavor, Salt, Soy Lecithin, Mono- and Diglycerides, Potassium Sorbate (to Preserve Freshness), Carrageenan, Xanthan Gum, Pectin, Sucralose

                    The glycerine, polydextrose, maltodextrin are questionable as to whether or not they are allowed. Be aware anything with -ose or contains 'dex' are sugars. Some people (myself included) cannot tolerate these ingredients as they trigger cravings and/or weight gain and/or insulin response. Modified Food Starch is never an allowed item. Pectin is questionable, maybe once you get to the fruit rung.

                    15 grams carbs. Doesn't list any sugar alcohols separately, I'm not seeing any sugar alcohols listed in the ingredients. If you choose to use this, be aware that this could very well cause stalls or weight gain.

                        Thanks for that information.
                        I'll just stick to what I'm doing now.Making my own...
                        I use unsweetened cocoa which has 3 carbs in 1 TBLS and Stevia.
                        I use less than 1 TBLS of the cocoa when I make coffee.
                        At least I'm getting my chocolate coffee issue taken care of.
                        Someone also told me about Stash Cocolate Black tea decaf and it is very very good.
                        I just put a touch of heavy cream in it and it's wonderful.

                          I'm still on induction and I, too, am obsessed with Starbucks. Those eggnogg lattes nearly killed me (I think I gained eight pounds between Thanksgiving & Christmas). Since I've been on induction, I will get a breve latte w/SF vanilla, but only once a week, and only a tall, and I drink it SLOWLY. Its the size that's killin ya, I think anyway. Get a smaller one and I'll bet you'll do just fine.

                            Oh my goodness Starbucks was is the hardest thing for me to give up....ohhh I could go for one now. However I usually get a Venti Americano w/ 2 shots of sf vanilla, and sf hazelnut. I haven't got this since I was on Atkins, but I noticed everyone else talking about them, so this makes me happy to see that I could drink it if I want.

                              i get a tall hot coffee with a touch of heavy cream and 2 splenda, then have it poured over a venti cup of ice. i like the coffee diluted and cold. and i get to feel like i am having a great big drink when really it is only a tall coffee!!
