  • Delicious Sleep!

    Hi Everybody!
I came back to Atkins on Jan 2, after 18 rediculous months away. Why did I get off track?
The last 10 days have been wonderful! I am remembering all of the favourite recipes and tricks that help keep us on track. The one thing I had completely forgotten about was the difference in sleeping. I sleep much more soundly when I follow this WOE. Sweet dreams of the Wooshie Fairy may also help? tee hee
Anyone else notice that? Just one of the many benefits
My Mom is my most ardent supporter, and chatting with her last night she said "I guess your body is really happy on this WOE". Made sense to me!

      Welcome back!

I've slept great since starting too - even though funnily enough I sleep for a shorter time, but I fall asleep quickly, stay asleep and wake more rested. I don't set an alarm anymore whereas before I always had to, and would hit snooze about half a dozen times before I dragged myself out. Now I wake up at much the same time everyday and just get up. It's made mornings MUCH less fraught and rushed around here.

        Re: Delicious Sleep!

Funny - I am actually having a reverse reaction... Since starting back up on induction this week I am having trouble getting to sleep... This happened to me the first time around as well - I wonder if it has anything to do with the lack of bad carbs - I notice when I eat bad carbs I become awful sleepy. If I remember right - I should get back to sleeping normally sometime next week. In the meantime could you send me over some Wooshie Fairy dust?

MMMM, glorious sleep! Deep sleep. If I am deep ketosis I cannot sleep. (another reason to drink your water!) I also find I sleep must less and I am instantly awake. Last night we were in bed by 9:30. At 4 am I had to go potty and then I was wide awake. OH well,, jump start on my day and was able to spend some time with hubby while he got ready for work.

I'll do better than just her dust, I will ask her very politely to drop in and visit you very soon.

Funny you should say that. I have been noticing that my sleep habits are alot better now too, since starting induction. Alot sounder, and deeper too. Before I seemed to be getting up and looking at the clock every couple of hours. Now it seems, like I fall off to sleep, and then the alarm clock wakes me up!
