  • Fridge Make Overs - ATKINS STYLE

    I just read some yahoo thing that was telling people how to make over your fridge to make it friendly to eating healthy, well it basically said to dump everything ATKINS is woo hoo about -- anything full fat etc.

    So i thought it would be fun for us to maybe do an Atkins fridge makeover. Here is the article link so you can see how its done.

    So what do you recommend for a fridge make over ATKINS STYLE! Fill in what you wish, in the end, i will see if i can compile a list of ditch it or keep it for each catagory.

    That's the first time I ever heard of fat-free mayo!! Yeeuww. Wonder what's in that?

      Oh, I think this will be fun! For induction or for OWL?

      Dairys
      Ditch it: Skim or low fat milk, fat free yogurt, low fat cheese anything low fat or no fat, processed cheeses and spreads, pre-shredded hard cheeses
      Stock it: Heavy whipping cream, cream cheese, hard cheeses (in block form) such as: cheddar, american, gouda, swiss, provolone, REAL BUTTER

      Meats:
      no nos: Processed meats containing nitrates, nitrites, sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup solids, bread crumbs, food starch.
      go gos: Fresh meats: beef, pork, poultry, seafood

      Beverages:
      Skip it: Caffeinated beverages, aspartame sweetened diet beverages
      Sip it: WATER, decaffeinated tea, coffee, sucralose, saccharine, or acesulfate potassium sweetened beverages (3 servings per day of artificially sweetened products)

      Condiments:
      Desert it: ketchup, salad dressings with sugar added
      Squirt it: mustard, sugar free mayonnaise, ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, horseradish sauce, olive oil

        grins, i am glad people are thinking this will be fun!!... I would say its pretty much for ongoing weightloss or if you want to put induction just indicate which you are posting for, i am sure people will benefit from both.
