    I had spinach lasagna last night! I'll have to see if I can find the recipe online. It's w/o noodles of course, but I don't miss the noodles at all. It's so good!

      Hi guys...

      TOM needs to show up NOW so I can stop being bloated. Today I woke up and felt like a fat little toad. Other than that, I'm doing OK. This cold is worsening, but hopefully that means I'm also on my way to recovering. I must be holding on to about 3 pounds of mucus, I swear. Feeling foggy because of cold meds, I just want to make it through the day, but honestly I could go home and sleep for hours. A 1/2 day might be in my future, YUCK.

      I'm anxious to see what the scale says in February.

      As for knowing why I was fat...sometimes I think I know the reason, sometimes I have no clue. I obviously have the willpower to do Atkins, and I can live without bad carbs. So what gives? If I sat around and tried to figure out why I was fat, I'd still *BE* fat. I don't think I'll ever know. I'd rather think about how I'm going to continue to get smaller and healthier.

        Today is my 90th day with this WOL, 3 month mark. So far, 31 pounds gone forever.

        I'm still not working out like I should be. Ever since the new year I've been lazy. I've decided to kick start myself by going to bed early, and try the KISS version of Atkins.

        Wish me luck.

          Morning, all!

          Today is a busier day than usual for me. I have to walk down to Walgreens to have a photo copied, so I'll do that instead of an a.m. run - my back could use the rest from jogging, anyway. Then, driving up north to Murrietta to have lunch with my oldest ds - should be fun, haven't seen him in a couple of weeks.

          Then, back down to run a couple of errands and then have a training session at the gym with dd, followed by a long soak in the jacuzzi and hopefully a session in the sauna (it was out of order yesterday)

          Yesterday's date with HopeJoy was soo wonderful. I am reminded about how great it is to talk to an adult woman who isn't a teaching colleague or a family member or a parent of one of my students or a professor! She and I are going to try to join a walking group and also a dance class. Yippee!

          HopeJoy - I can't BELIEVE you would gain 5 lbs in one day - has to be h2o, so drink up today! It may take 2 days to lose it, but just keep chugging.

          It looks like another beautiful day outside. Time to enjoy it.

            Now, if I can only keep the dogs off of me while I'm on the floor.

            LOL I konw the feeling! My dog seems to think that me lying on that purple mat means he should run over and lie on top of me for a belly rub! he weighs 65 lbs..so it's a slight distraction. it can also be hard not to kick him in the head accidently when i don't realize he's beside me, then i waste 5 mins of exercise time apologizing and petting him.

            Jen, what about jump rope? Cheaper than an elliptical, lots of cardio!
            Joy that is a great idea, and i happen to own a good rope too. i think it's even weighted.

            It always amazes me when I'm reading others posts, how many times i find myself going 'wow me too!!' just proves that we're really not alone and many of us have the same struggles

              Morning all! It's felt pretty chilly in LA this morning and I just wanted to roll over and snuggle in my comforter all day! Alas, duty calls so work instead. Today is my 3rd full smoke-free day-it's been years since I could say that!

              Hope everyone has a great day, remember to take care of yourselves too; it's just as important as taking care of your other loved ones!

                Here's the link, with a photo even. I had to go out shopping, so dh made it. He used sausage instead of ground beef and it was delicious. I forgot to tell him to use the 9X13 pan and make a double batch, so we don't have a lot of leftovers, but there's enough for my lunch today...can't wait.

                  Good morning fellow atkineers!

                  I just got off work and I had the hardest time getting home. Thanks to the cold weather my car doors were frozen shut. Took like 10 mins to open them. ugh. Finally got home and I've taken care of the pets and I'm about to cook me some food and then go to bed!

                  So tired of working graveyards...

                    Just checking in- Happy Hump Day STAC'ers,

                    So far so good! I have been eating well. I have gotten 2 great dinners the last 2 nights and another one tonight. I have saved all my carbs for dinner. I had 2 atkins shakes for breakfast and lunch and splurged at dinner..... Mouth watering Asiago Cheese Crusted Scallops with roasted vegi's (so yummy) on Monday night and last night was Venison Medallions with roasted vegi's... I am not sure what the carb counts were because there were sauces. Tonight will be Asian - sushishimi will be on the menu (not my favorite).

                      Good Morning Everyone!

                      DD and I are taking our morning break from school right now. We started a little early today so we could go out shopping for clothes. The girl is growing out of them faster than I can buy then it seems.

                      I am doing great this week so far working on rung one. No problems.

                      I am like you. I like or need to have new things to motivate me. That is why the shelves are littered with exercise DVD's and my gym room is a wasteland of equipment LOL. I don't need to go to any gym, I am aquiring all of it right here LOL! It is good to hear that you and your DD are so fired up and motivated.

                      I laughed when you were talking about your dogs. My little cocker spaniel immediately starts to head butt me and roll all over the floor around me if I do floor exercises. It is like somebody sounds a little bell in his head and he's off!

                            liz good luck with mri!! as for why i was fat.....i think because i used food as a substitute for many things and also was in denial about my real state of health. i think BEING fat begets CONTINUING to be fat...i was a heavy child, so i was always in a slight state of panic/anxiety and continued to use food to dull that.

                            but moving past it now1!!!!
