  • I want to cry...

    TEARS OF JOY!!!!

    I went to the gym today, got my groove on and tried running 3 miles (I've only gotten to 2.5) 2 miles into my run, I was called away by the daycare facility - other kiddo was sick and I needed to take him home - so I jammed home - hubby was home, so I dropped the kids off and went back to the gym...
    I was kinda miffed that I wasn't able to finish my 3 miles, so I started over again - I DID IT! I RAN 3 MILES!!! It took me almost 40 min to do it, but I did it!!!!
    Actually, I ran 5 miles total for the day - I'm super stoked!!! My goal was to be able to run a 5K -now I know I can totally do it
    So my new goal is to work on my speed and better my time

    I'm so excited, I had to tell someone!

      amazing.....very very very good!! i would like to run a 5k again this year. and i will. so you did 3 miles in 40 minutes......thats very good. skys the limit for you......go for the 5k first, then a 5 miler.....then a 10k!!! there's no stopping you

            I am planning on running the St. Patricks Day 5K, here in town. I'm so excited!

              I know this is very exciting! Based on your picture, and being so close to goal weight you should be a very good runner in no time...make sure to cross train so that you don't wear out those muscles....

                You know, you are close enough to participate in the Bolder Boulder. It's a 10k but it's soooooo much fun. Now i cannot promise we will run the whole thing. Still working up to it, but you are certainly welcome to join our lil group. We usually end up splitting into smaller groups by speed about 1/2 a mile in. My son does it with me too. think about it

                  Susan - I totally forgot about that one!!! I LOVE Boulder - so beautiful & hubby went to CU Boulder. It's been years since we've been back there! I am such a dork, I didn't even realize you lived in CO! (what part?)
                  I'll talk to the spouse and see if he's down with trying a 10K - we've got a while to train for it. What does your group do? Are you in one of the training clubs? I'll admit I'm intimidated, but willing to try it!

                    I live in Morrison. Well our group is basically myself, my son, his paternal grandmother, a friend of hers and whomever else wishes to join us. We generally start the race together then tend to split up by speed. Then we meet again at the end. As for training i will admit i have never done much to train for it. This year i am going to do the couch to 5k and build up from there. As for the ttraining clubs i would love to join but i don't really have time working full time and being a single mom leaves me with limited options. You could do the St. Pattys 5k to see if you are up for it and then go for the big time. I have to say it is an amazing time

                      Colleen, that is awesome! I just told another runner, I am so in awe of all of you who can run. I cannot run to the end of the block without huffing and puffing! You are so close to your goal weight also, kudos to you!
